#20 The 120Hz Monitor Thread in Hardware

i have the do not get acer :< . turning off post processing has helped to alleviate the input lag so its not so bad i guess. but i recommend against this monitor as i got it only because it was the only cheaper 24" 120hz available where i live.

has anyone tried the new samsung 24"/27" 120hz monitors? i had a friend who bought the S23A750D (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-001-475&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=100&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=1#scrollFullInfo) and tested at my place. the colours look really good for a tn panel (granted its glossy). the only downside to it is you'll need display-port to get 120hz on this model/series as it does not have dvi.

the other model/series (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001473) though has dvi support but has this weird design that i'm not a fan of.

#4 Live Streams in Site Discussion

so far so good, i really like the current layout. really enjoyable to watch streams, have live chat just below it and the forum based comments are really nifty.

#6 AVERMEDIA Live Gamer HD in Hardware

say you wanna use a 120hz monitor, how would you hook up the AVERMEDIA Live Gamer HD if you want to use the same PC to game and stream? At the moment, i have 2 monitors hooked up so i'd imagine i'd have to sacrifice one monitor and have my gpu output in cloned mode. One 120hz dual link, the other dvi to hdmi at 60hz if that is even possible.

this would be my only option as my power bill are surging through the roof and i can't afford to have yet another pc running for extended periods of times.

#10 Zowie AM or SteelSeries Kana? in Hardware

i'm leaning towards the kana for now. can't get zowie products in singapore sadly. i think the am's narrower shape doesn't suit my hands as much. it seems more rounded at the top.

enigmafriction is more or less independent of surface area, but the mouse feet that come with the kana are still absolute shit. they're the same ones that come with the kinzu that steelseries "mistakenly" put on the kana as well. they'll supposedly send you replacement mousefeet if you provide them the S/N on the bottom of the mouse, but it's been like 3 months and i still haven't gotten mine.

i don't suppose they would have fixed that by now if they even intend to. i heard the right mouse button was stiffer (by design?).

did you get the orange/black or white version?

#4 Zowie AM or SteelSeries Kana? in Hardware

i looked at the bottom of the zowie am and saw the huge mousefeet. not a fan of those as i think it gives more friction.

i'm getting fustrated with my sensei and want to go back to optical mice.

how are the buttons on the kana? i'm not sure if i remember this correctly but i heard one button is stiffer than the other.
