Anything that boosts tf2s popularity is probably a good thing, but when I see betting all I think of is problem gambling. I don't know how cs lounge works, but I think (and hope) that what you're saying is that there's no cut being taken out of the bets, and you don't gain anything from people losing? Because while gambling in itself is a bit dangerous, the combination of gambling and the gambling company itself using every psychological trick in the book to make people bet as much as possible is extremely damaging to a lot of people.

Obviously I wouldn't begrudge you making money out of this, quite the opposite considering the work that's been put in and the people who have contributed, I just really want to know that people aren't going to be exploited etc

Anyway yeah I think that's what you have been saying, that all the losers' items are redistributed to the winners, but I can't be sure, and I'm kind of surprised that a thread about setting up a gambling site has gone five pages without really addressing these issues.

Cheers and thanks for taking the time to make something like this, even while you have exams on etcetera

The thing is 'playstyles' are just a convenient generalisation we use to classify people by the type of decisions they normally make. That notwithstanding, I do think your state of mind does have merit, Termo, because you should always be trying to make the best decisions.

#5 My Configs are fucked up in Customization

I like your chat binds
Anyway where did you get the config from? When I had no knowledge of configs I got one from tf2mate and it was so dumb, unbound all my keys every time I changed class and I'd have to manually exec it again every time for it to work, and every time I edited it it just went straight back to what it had been before... I ended up just deleting every cfg in the folder and starting from scratch with my own binds, it worked out a lot easier in the long run.

Don't know what's stuffing up your exec command though.

termoDo play styles even exist? How can they, if there is a best way to play in every situation?

#13 What is the best way to practise while offline? in TF2 General Discussion

I've been wondering if there's any way to rejig the directs map cfgs ('connecting pipes like a plumber') to work on tr_newbots/arena. There probably is but the player's respawn location would also have to be changed unless you just turn the spawn health up so no one dies. But that can be done more easily anyway :|

Oblivionaged4m0Oblivionagemy cfg disables particle effectsHow? I didn't know that was possible.
my bad i never really paid attention to my particles (only time i do is in a jump server when they're disabled), i thought they were reduced from my frames config but they aren't. i'm not getting these weird circles though and i'm playing on dx9.

Mm fair enough, pity
Are you dx91? The new particles only seems to be for dx95.

#2 TF2 not launching in Q/A Help

In steam, go through the motions of redownloading tf2 (search for the game, click install, etc) and as long as your tf2 folder is actually named correctly steam will notice it and go through verifying all the files. Once that's done (takes maybe half an hour) it will download anything necessary and then you should be able to play again.

Is resting my middle finger on the scroll wheel and only right clicking with my ring finger weird or

I used to do that when I (obsessively) played a game where scrolling was really important
it still feels weird to me though so I guess the answer is yes.

I don't even know how I hold my mouse, post 2 sums it up i guess

There is a casting mod floating around somewhere that lets you change what people's igns show up as.

Unless it broke recently? I don't know

#124 milk in Off Topic
hanbrolodairy companies actually send elementary schools free food pyramid posters that have milk as an essential part, which seems a little ridiculous to me considering the aforementioned lack of evidence of real tangible benefits of milk.

almond milk, on the other hand, is fucking delicious.

Gettem while they're young and that sort of thing.

I think this thread is kind of proving that it works.

Edit: just realised what a massive necro this was, gawd i'm slow

#121 milk in Off Topic
potpharaoh__Milk is a big scam. Milk in general doesn't have much of a health benefit unless you're a cow. There's little to no solid evidence that milk is beneficial for bones, or your health in any way. It's regarded as the healthy option for schools, yet it generally has more sugar and is higher in fat than coke.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk#Medical_research

Interesting to read the (longer) list of possible harms below.

30-50 million Americans are lactose intolerant, yet your government pushes milk on you as if you were, well, cows.
