#22 Overclocking your USB port in ESEA in Hardware
sa3lence_What is USB overclocking good for?hpqoeuDoctorMiggyProbably not the right thread to ask this (as it might have been answered in another thread), but I'm genuinely curious as to what overclocking your usb does and how much of a difference does it make.
ELI5 please

increases the perfect control speed for some mice, most notably the older microsoft ones. also makes it more responsive since it polls the sensor more often for data

how big the impact will be depends on things like your refresh rate(!) and in-game fps, but generally speaking you will see a big improvement from 125, up to 500 or 1000.
the difference between 500 and 1000 is less significant (obviously), but can still be a perceivable difference (smoother, quicker).

but the main reason this driver is used for is to bump up the "perfect tracking speed" of the old MLT04 mice (WMO, IMO, IME).
on default 125hz polling rate, if you do a flick and go beyond 1m/s (physical movement), the sensor craps out and your aim goes to shit. "overclocking" to 500+ will bring this cap up to 1,5m/s. (which is still not high, but it absolutely makes a difference.)

Yep it stayed on 125hz after down clocking.
The highest it's going to is 131hz

Does this work with microsoft basic mouse?
I tried it and mouserate is still reporting an average of 125hz?
