Happened to me as well, I always back up my cfg + custom folder in case that happens.

I love checking forums of different game developers from time to time, if anyone is aware of Telltale, they had a similar problem in their Forum section. The community disliked Downvotes and some people even had to leave TT forums because of constant stream of downvoters, their solution was to remove Downvotes completely and keep Upvotes, so that the Forum members could rate the valuableness/helpfulness of Comments, instead of just disliking certain community members 24/7.

Demos/STV

-Being able to move around when you pause STV Demo
-Fix looping sound of Flames/Door opening/Heavy minigun spin/shoot
-Fix disappearing player model
-Integrate Auto-Record command into Tf2, whenever match starts, demo starts recording. Like P-REC but without it.
-Add Demoui button into main menu
-Cs:Go like Demoui system
-Be able to Open Scoreboard when watching Pov demos
-Option to remove Jitter when using Drive command

HUD

-Replace Red Damage numbers with Other color or have...
-...In game HUD designer that allows you to change various elements like Health and Ammo position/Damage Colors etc...
-Same Scoreboard system like in Cs Go, right click when scoreboard is opened, to click on players and check their profile, mute them, report for hacking, vote kick etc.
-Better Crosshairs, more flexible ones like in Cs:Go
-Scoreboard Shows Respawn time of your team members

In-Game settings

-Halloween/Full Moon days do not affect Servers with mp_tournament 1
-Developer Console enabled by default
-Presets of Graphic levels: Lowest - Low - Med - High -Highest - Ultimate
-Raise Network settings (interp, cmdrate etc.)
-Command to turn on/off Freezecams, by turning off, you switch to other player's pov 1 second later after your death
-Viewmodel FoV slider somewhere in Settings
-Fov defaulted to 90 instead of 75
-Damage numbers enabled by default
-Fps saver settings like: Disable Ragdolls, Explosions, Shadows etc.
-Be able to Turn on and Off Cosmetics, with an option to Filter which Cosmetics (Miscs/Hats/Unusuals/Self Made etc.)
-Command to turn off Achievement sound

Main Menu

-Stream Section
-Season/Tournament signups on Main Menu
-Add Guides for players who are new to Competitive
-Complete overhaul of Main menu to make it look more attractive
-Add little badges like in Cs:Go, with competitive achievements, something like: ESEA Invite S15 Participant, ETF2L Prem S20 Winner, UGC Plat Silver 2nd Place
-Synchronization with ETF2L/UGC/ESEA/Other leagues Accounts, to see your Current and Past teams as well as Division you're in
-Loadout free view, where you can rotate and zoom in/out your character, as well as change team colors
-Competitive Matches in Server Browser, so you can spec any matches you wish
-Upcoming Matches section, for each league

In-Game

-Add a Button or a Command which allows you to switch spawn without changing class/loadout
-Feature to actually name your Presets, like: Roamer (preset 1), Pocket (preset 2), Pub (preset 3), Fun (preset 4)...
-Update Voice Sound Codec, just like in Cs Go recently
-In-game Live statistics, which shows who is doing most damage/kills/heals
-Add DM Gamemode
-Add Medal Slot in Loadout menu
-Class Tutorials for all Classes
-Add Weapon descriptions, for those weapons that don't have them or have hidden attributes

Maps

-Voting for new Official map(s) every x amount of months, just like they used to do in Cs Go,
-Fix Payload Cart looping sound after winning 1 round
-Add Beta Maps for current Competitive maps, add them to Beta map pool for letting players play on them and potentially leaving feedback, to balance maps more.
-Add Map Workshop, for easier downloads of new versions of Custom maps
-Update old maps such as Freight, Yukon, etc. By possibly contacting community

Classes

-Alter Bubbles of Calling for Medic team members, add a feature to see how long they have not been damaged, for Crit healing.
-Fix Airblasted rockets going to random directions
-Add New Stock items that drastically change Class playstyle:
*Gunboats
*Sandvich
*Wrangler and Gunslinger
*All Mediguns
*All Watches
Make all of those Stock, because those weapons really change each class's playstyle, especially Medic's Mediguns, especially important when Item server goes down!

Random

-(Bi)Monthly Reset of Duel wins
-Custom Announcer packs (Paid only), just like in Dota 2
-Add "Sniper!" Voiceline (taken from MvM) to Main game, to call if Sniper is watching.
-Weapon Shines for dx8 users
-Add Signature item, that allows you to Sign weapons, instead of Gift Wraps
-Add Strange Counter: Kills in Competitive mode, Airshots, Headshot Airshots
-Special Keys that you can buy, where 75% or so goes to Funding Tf2 Competitive tournaments
-Update Game PC Requirements as well as Screenshots
-More regular blogs, what is planned, dev blogs, what updates we should be waiting for.
-Tournament announcements on Main Blog, instead News section
-Addition to Saxxy competition: Best Fragmovie
