You're comparing something created solely for the purpose of killing to something that is virtually harmless.

Gun availability is an issue every where in the nation no matter where you live, the northeast isn't an exception to that at all. Even if he stole the guns, the availability of the guns he stole is a symptom of a nation that has no major political party opposed to the NRA. Yes, mental health service availability is also a major issue in the nation, but saying that the discussion should be limited to that is ignorant of the last half a year (really last 50+ years) and the other tragedies that are the reason that a title with shooting in it has to be preceded by "yet another."
The laws of the US aren't the reason this person did what he did. I'd like to bring your attention to (as far as I can tell) the greatest tragedy to ever hit a school (other than Justin Beiber's music teacher tell him to "stick with it")

The fact of the matter is the CULTURE of mental health needs to change in the US and make professionals more accessible and discussing your emotions, good or bad, more acceptable in this country.
Also, as a gun owner (I legally own 6 firearms) I can assure you that the process to obtain firearms in the US (specifically in my state, Illinois) is quite extensive, but not perfect. This person had a significant history of mental illness and today's events are merely summation of what was probably weeks or months of preparation.
The point is that you don't need your six fucking guns or any at all. I just don't understand America's obsession with guns. Just this year, a trick-or-treater in a skunk costume was shot by a man because he thought it was a real skunk. Make it as hard as possible for stupid people to obtain a gun. If it wasn't so easy for Joe Schmo to get a hold of a gun of course the shootings would happen less often.

thrasherSeriously tho, video games have no place in the Olympics. There is no physical athleticism involved. Do video games require skill, and lots of practice? Of course they do, but they just don't fit the bill as an Olympic sport in the same way that tennis wouldn't fit in ESEA. esports is growing, but it has a LONG way to go. The Koreans have really paved the way for us with the Starcraft scene, if we could reach that level with other games we could see esports finally get recognized as a legit "sport", but even then it still wouldn't fit the bill for the Olympics.
Shooting a gun is an Olympic sport, something that requires no athleticism.

Mr_OwlIt's the most well marketed sport in the US. Compared to faster-moving sports like basketball it's really boring to watch. I have no interest in watching a play, then watching it replayed 3 more times while they set up for the next one. I realize that's maybe an unpopular opinion, but basketball, hockey, and soccer are far more interesting on a strategic level because decision-making happens in real time.
99% of the time a qb chooses who he throws to on the fly. Quarterbacks make audibles to counter certain formations and an rb chooses where to run/cut on the fly. Soccer is slow paced and basketball is repetitive. Hockey is good though.
Football is 20 minutes of actual gameplay. I don't watch a game anymore without my smartphone in hand to do something during the commercial breaks. Kind of ridiculous to have a commercial break after a team scores and another one right after the kickoff.
I think kickoffs are fine. Being able to take knees with 2 mins left in the game is a bigger problem in football.
