I rounded down on $4.5k and $2.5k by accident so it's actually $17k meaning you get $4,220. ESEA has several sponsors so a lot of their expenses are probably taken care of. This "TFTV" league would be capable of getting sponsors as well.

The main point is that ESEA does fuck all for the promotion of TF2. Having a TF2 exclusive league would help rather than playing in a league where the game is an afterthought.

#21 Now that I'm in a team... in Q/A Help

My expenses a couple seasons ago were $20 for 3 months of premium plus $5 for league fees. Taxes apply. The season actually lasts like 9 or 10 weeks so you have to buy 3 months worth of premium.

Giving them a prize that they won doesn't count as helping them get to lan. It would require a lot of work from many people but the money can be raised.

Playing one season of open requires $25 times 8 people per team to account for those that have 1-2 backups times the number of teams (50) you'd get like $10k. Intermediate would raise about $4k and Invite about $2000.

Total would be about $16k which would firstly pay for the LAN expenses, then the prize pot, and then the travel expenses.

Edit: I'm assuming this league charges the same amount but the money goes back into growing TF2 and the competitive community instead of whatever ESEA decides to do. I'm sure sponsors would get involved as well if the league gets a good deal of teams.

defiancepotOdissiusTime to say fuck ESEA and make a TeamFortress.TV League and migrate all ESEA teams to it?I agree with this. Entry fees are used to fund a LAN final for the top 4 teams, including LAN expenses and flights.I don't know if you put much thought into this, but open players would have to pay much more than their moms would allow for this to be plausible at all. It's a fact that ESEA can hold a lan for TF2 because of the money it gets from the CS games.

It's not like ESEA helps any teams get to lan right now...If the LAN was held in Chicago, many people could simply drive there and bring their computers with them. They wouldn't need to rent that large of a room to house 12 people at a time.

The only legit excuse they could have would be that TF2 updated fairly late yesterday and they should have needed 15 minutes to update TF2 on every computer. No way should they have wasted 2 hours+.

It's clear that ESEA has no interest in promoting TF2 or expanding the scene whatsoever.
Their ads don't show any TF2 footage at all.
TF2 wasn't installed on a TF2 designated computer.
90% of our entry fees go to CS players.
Orange stream not even handled by ESEA.

I woke up at 12:30 thinking I missed the first match but instead I waited 45 minutes to watch shitty ads about ESEA's counter strike divisions
