i miss Mad Men
i came from 1.6/CS:S, and on those games, the "invite players" were treated like gods or something, but on tf2 i was kinda surprised by the proximity of the high level and low level players. this proximity is good and bad at the same time, imo, because invite loses the 'credibility' (i dont think its the right word) and makes the high level not really a big deal, so it doesn't really matters
blinKLets look at nNn. Before they picked up powah the previous season in IM they were the 2nd, maybe 3rd best team. Then with powah they win IM and go invite. Half way through their semi successful invite stint powah leaves because he can't go to LAN. Why play in the first place? Now he's going to join kappows team in IM and give them a better chance to make invite as well and do the same exact thing all over again. Sorry but to me that's just stupid. Kappow had a solid team without powah they should've left the roster as it was. He's basically a temporary high level merc sand bagging lower divisions.
I always wanted to go to LAN, too bad it didn't happen this season.
about me in IM again, they are cool dudes and frio didn't want to play the ashville week, so I joined them as backup. I'm not starting for them. also I don't think I was the factor that made Mad Men win IM last season.
JUST MAKE AN OFF-SEASON TOURNAMENT BETWEEN THE TEAMS THAT WANT TO PLAY IN INVITE, DOUBLE HEADER, EXTV COVERAGE, MORE VIEWERS, MORE GAMES TO WATCH, OH GOD PROBLEM SOLVED
VortexPlatinumAre you like fucking pissed that lansky picked craig up instead of you or something?? That's typically not the norm. See: carnage. He tried to come back for 2 seasons and people DIDN'T pick him up, despite him being godlike in his prime. No, I'm shit. I found it incredibly confusing that your post on "players with potential" comprised solely of players who were dedicated and didn't take years off and then used it to defend a player who did exactly that.
It is the norm. The same players are recycled through invite, and lets face it, a lot of them have lost the drive to try to get to the top. I'm going to stop name dropping, but lets just say there's a lot of players in Invite who have no ambition of even making to LAN (dodge or leave if they do) and a lot who have no drive to winning LAN. These players float around as "roster fillers" and only bother playing TF2 when their scheduled scrims or matches start.
I'm sorry that I name dropped in the first place, I didn't mean to offend. I'm just really disappointed with the way this invite season is panning out.
PlatinumThe only players that deserved to be in invite this season that weren't already were the entire xensity team.Really, no one?
Healbot? Gremaud? Thorn? Trekkie? Decimate? Xalox? Rando? Oov?
Just the Xensity players?
are you kidding me?
invite is made of invite teams, not exactly invite players, if that means anything

FUCK ASHVILLE
stop it powah, play nice. dont make me take your bananas away
