Doubtful it's solely--not saying it isn't to an extent--to appeal to masses, given how progressive he is.

An article I read awhile back stated essentially the same thing. I'm a bit less pessimistic about his run because of the polls and donors, and that many people are still discovering who he is. Even if he makes office, he'd still have troubles admittedly, but it'd be a step towards a better future pulling away from the extreme right, imo.

Syath's a very kind person, and a joy to play with. He can be competitive, and goofy at the same time all-the-while not missing a beat in his play. Syath makes for a good team player, and is an IM capable Scout and Soldier with solid mechanics, game sense, and DM; he's a very well-rounded player who would excel with a stable team.

For me though, this trailer was awesome.

Oh boy, there's a lot of things to say about this guy, so I'll just sum it up the best I can.

Cereal is swell person to be around. He's very difficult to upset - this in mind, Cereal rarely tilts - and is very reasonable even when upset. Outside of scrims and matches, Cereal communicates his thoughts with team mates very well; you are never uncertain about how Cereal feels, and he works to resolve any personal issues genuinely, reasonably, and swiftly. Cereal makes for a great friend, and a supportive team mate--he's a person you can vent to, and trust in bouts of frustration.

I think that Cereal would be well suited to a playoff Open team. He has really strong DM that wasn't utilized this season, being forced to play a weird style of Demo part due to my skittishness in fights which would leave him without heals. He could call his damage, and focuses could a bit more oft.

To clear your bullshit up on my side of things....

Tojo, we didn't pick you up on Pocket because you're awful. You are, maybe now were, a 40% plus heal-vacuum, because you cannot manage your own health. You take HUGE amounts of damage before, during, and after team fights for no reason leaving your health almost constantly low; you take necessary health packs away from your teammates that they need as another result. You played very, very baity on Pocket, baiting everybody all of the time; team fights, transitions, and even in stalemates. I died half of the time on Med when you tried out as Pocket because you'd jump away from me to grab a pack you didn't even need. Fuck dude, you couldn't even manage your own ammo, that's why you jumped away and left me alone at times. It was a unanimous vote, nobody that was on the team at the time wanted to play with you because of how often you baited them.

Also, for the record, we didn't "have Vari carry us" either. We picked him up because we thought he was going to stay chill, and that we could find a few other strong players around him. Didn't happen that way, unfortunately.

Edit 2: as a friend reminded me, you don't fucking listen to criticism either; you rejected what we told you to do better completely.

Now the fun part.

Caught in your own web of lies Tojo, it goes deeper. In addition to not telling Syath that you were actually cutting people for him, you didn't tell Drake or Jeff that you were cutting anyone. You only wanted Syath to carry you guys, and god knows why you cut Smitty for Cereal--afraid Syath wouldn't play? You lied to Scruff about why he was cut; it was supposed to be Spades but you didn't want your GXL meeting with him to be awkwawd :'(. Literally you tried to cut your way to the top, because you wanted and even funnier enough, thought you could win Open.

Cereal managed to confirm all of that for me.

Edit: as Cereal pointed out to me, and since I want historical accuracy, Syath did know that people were to be cut. However, Syath was blatantly lied to about why they were to be cut, and thought he was helping Cereal finish the season out since Cereal is his friend. Oh, Cereal also noted that I was right, Syath wouldn't play without him.

Cut for the most bullshit reason I've ever heard of. Lovely personality, voice, and a solid gamer. Scruff McGruff would indeed make a lovely pick-up to any team.
