#53 ESEA-O S19 Week 1 Recap in News

we are literally paying to lose though rofl

So are we lol

you can put up a good fight against garglebury's team, their only player who isn't new or rusty is griff

I think so too. We put up a decent fight vs. Blue Elephant, but we'll have to do it minus our main caller and pocket :(

brooky12So for those who've done it before, what's the best way to not crumble after your first season of Open (assuming you don't do too well)?

As mentioned before, good communication about any issues is key. Trying to keep a positive attitude even during rolls helped my team stick through it. Also having backups helped us out to rotate and not have people burn out. Just remember we're playing a game and trying to have a good time.

#36 2/14/15 Newer Open teams, how's your midseason? in TF2 General Discussion

wizards checking in

How's the difficulty of schedules and the new matchups thus far?

The new schedule has been odd. There have been ffw's and just a game where we ran a completely different lineup than normal and we got rolled (my computer died at the time).

If your team died (I know a couple have), what happened (please keep it civil)?

Nah My team has been around forever since ugc and we won't be dying.

Have you guys been improving a ton since you've started playing in the season?

We have definitely improved since the start and it always feels like we're really close to something good and we kinda goof it up. But our scouts who are the least experienced have definitely stepped it up.

What has stopped you from improving, if something is?

The only thing that has hindered improving is our main callers work schedule getting a lot tougher. Scrims without him are a lot worse.

Has anything on ESEA caused trouble while playing?

Only one time there was a bit of ESEA trouble but once an amdin got back to us we played our match (1-5 loss lol)

How do you feel about playing in ESEA?

We really enjoy ESEA and the challenge and trying to improve.

What have you noticed about your team that has made it very fun?

My team doesn't get angry and we are always game to play whoever even if we're gonna get rolled. We'd rather get stomped than ffw.

Same question, but what has made you guys improve?

Since everyone is so game for everything they show up for map talks and scrims and it's worked out really well.

I think this may be the first week my team (Wizards) takes an ESEA round or two :D

http://play.esea.net/teams/91818

My team (1-3) has gotten beaten 0-5 every game and one forfeit win. Our first two 0-5's were pretty rough but the third 0-5 felt much better as weird as that sounds and we felt real improvement. We had chances to take a few rounds and just goofed. My team has played together for a while now in the lower leagues (ugc iron-plat)) and we're kinda bad but we have lots of fun together so we're in for the long haul and hope to keep improving little by little. I feel bad for the ffw I'd rather get 5-0'd

Hopefully I can adjust to the demo nerf. I feel like I've been playing outstandingly bad.

edit: if any other lowish open teams wanna scrim or something hit me up!

#1 Low-mid Open team LF scout in Recruitment (looking for players)

Hi I'm raxo the leader of the Washington Wizards a bunch of cool dudes that's played together for a while. We've played many UGC seasons together (silver to plat) and a couple of CEVO seasons with varying degrees of success. We also have many seasons of HL experience (not that it matters). We're looking to try our hand at ESEA

We are currently looking for a scout as we've had our main scout drop back to being only a backup. We try to scrim Monday-Thursday at 9est and on.

Our roster is

scouts: dysfunctional, (you!)
roamer: Sharlike
pocket: Crab
demoman: raxozellet
medic: frilly

backups: cuddlybanana, carthage, Frank West

So hey if you're interested in some cool dudes who are looking to try and improve and shit hit me up! I ask to have at least a season or two of open as that's about what we have. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198044198381/

Or if I'm not on hit up my co leader crab http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197987377191

#1 Team LF mentor in Mentoring

Hi! I am raxo and my team (The Washington Wizards) is looking for someone who is willing to review some demos of our gameplay to help us pinpoint coordination issues and our combo play among other things that us as lower players may not have thought of.

We are an aspiring new open team and currently play UGC plat (yeah I know people look down on UGC). We scrim 4ish nights a week and are looking to improve.

Roster:
scouts: Rainy, Frank West
Soldiers: Sharlike, Crab
Demo: raxozellet
medic: frilly

So yeah hit me up and stuff.

#31 Medic LFT Open (Backup/Sub) in Recruitment (looking for team)

I still say pick her up. She's solid and it never hurts to have a decent backup med on the team.
