#3 Matchmaking POV Demo - HUD Resource in Customization
yttriumThe real hero in all of this.

I managed to get yayahud working, but the MM-specific stuff looks awful, and this is exactly what I need to fix it.

Does the demo contain any portion of the ready up process?

Yep, should have the ready up panels on the screen for the first 10 or so seconds. :>

#1 Matchmaking POV Demo - HUD Resource in Customization

Hey there,

In an effort to make editing the matchmaking elements easier, I recorded my POV of one of my matchmaking games earlier. Because the pre-game animation and end-screen/stats panel are both a part of a player's POV during these games, this demo allows you to edit your HUD to accommodate for these specific elements.

I know the pre-game panel is replicable in a local server via "tf_mm_servermode 3", but to my knowledge there's not a good way to replicate the ending screen. This demo allows you to edit your HUD for matchmaking without actually having the pass or currently having access to the matchmaking game mode.

The pre-game animation happens after about 6 seconds into the demo, and the ending screen starts at tick 52,000.

TobcongaitisThe HUD doesn't work when i play comp. I can't see my stats and I don't see the scoreboard after we win games. I don't know what to do!!! :(
the HUD still needs some updating for MM and Valve changes the HUD elements every other day.
I suggest using Improved Default HUD for playing MM until rayshud is updated properly

My HUD is updated and working properly with matchmaking. Make sure you have the latest version (found a few posts up and on the front page).

rayshud v2016.3.4 has been released!

This update should add in support for the current iteration of matchmaking. Please keep in mind that most of this was done blind (as I didn't have any chance to check a lot of this since I only managed to get in one matchmaking game so far), but it should all work. If something is broken, please post here so I can know and get it fixed as soon as possible.

This version includes the following changes:

- Fixed the matchmaking lobby menu displaying incorrectly.
- Fixed users not being able to create matchmaking lobbies of their own.
- Added in support to display a user's current stats on the matchmaking lobby.
- Completely redesigned the player ready panels across all three types (MvM, tournament ready mode, matchmaking)
- Updated ready mode panels to better fit 4x3 resolutions.
- Updated competitive mode panels to better fit 4x3 resolutions.
- Updated MvM panels to support more than just the default 6 users.
- Re-aligned the countdown timer in MvM.
- Added in animations for matchmaking games.
- Added in support for the post-game screen in matchmaking.

You can download the update here:

#127 MAJOR TF2 update for 2/29/16 (3/1/16 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion
flamejust go to https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking/commit/5306edff4cc8b508b51f68dfc3da7748fb672f47 and look.

you dont need to be in the beta to update your huds.

Since I don't have a pass but want to make sure my HUD's up to date, is there anything that I'd need to do as a HUD dev to add in support for the new things outside of just simply copy/pasting the changed/new files into my HUD?

I know I can probably test most of the stuff in a local server via tf_competitive_mode 1, but stuff like the end/result panel doesn't require any additional editing, right?

can u choose a diferent ladder ? 9v9 ? or they just forgot that part ?

9v9's been in the ladder dropdown menu just as long as the 6v6 one has, even since some of the earliest iterations of the competitive matchmaking menu, which is something I don't think a lot of people realize. That being said, I'm pretty sure it's been stated that they're focusing on 6s initially to get things going and get some feedback about the system, etc., then potentially expand out from there.

Oh, also there was initially an issue with the loading screens on minmode, so if you were using the minmode version of the HUD and had a broken loading screen, please make sure you're updated to the most recent commit I have on my github:

https://github.com/raysfire/rayshud/archive/d1ea1a2c79296bad83482973b2c21f21e6bcb19a.zip

Sorry for the trouble!

In addition to this, the "toggle scoreboard" button on the menu was broken but I didn't have the time to fix it last night, so I've gone ahead and done a quick patch of that here:

https://github.com/raysfire/rayshud/archive/954c5adb1bbd54dd8a8b2c3098abef24cc1199b6.zip

If you've downloaded the newest version (ie. you have the new main menu) and you frequently use the "Toggle Scoreboard" button, please download this patch.

rayshud v2016.2.11 has been released!

This update completely re-did the entire main menu. If you have any feedback for me on it, I'd be happy to hear it. The older version of the main menu will no longer be supported - If you'd like to get the older menu styling, you're welcome to get the older .vtfs and main menu files from past commits.

This update also should fix the player-based ready up system; however, I wasn't able to get anyone to help me test it, so I had to attempt to edit it in the dark. It should work for 6s, however there might be some clipping still present in a highlander setting.

All credit for the photo used in the main menu/loading screen goes to OurEarthInFocus on reddit. All I did was convert them to a VTF for use in-game.

This version includes the following changes:

- Completely re-did the entire main menu, including the following changes:
- + Added in user identification upon logging in (via name and avatar integration)
- + Added in a button to join competitive matchmaking (with the obtaining of a beta pass).
- + Added in a button to reload the HUD while in-game if bugged.
- Added in a custom, cleaner loading screen that matches the styling of the main menu.
- Updated the competitive matchmaking lobby to be cleaner and match the current Valve standard.
- Fixed the player-based ready up system to not cut off players in a 6v6 setting (highlander potentially might still see some clipping - If so, I can fix later).

You can download the update here:

PSA: The rayshud[dot]com domain name has been purchased by sketchy, malware-esque company. If you want to quickly find the HUD, please use hud.raysfi.re or huds.tf/rayshud.

It's a shame, but unfortunately after the domain name expired (which wasn't owned by me), it was up for sale for ~$600 or so dollars by some company that had bought it - and it looks like this is what ended up happening after someone forked up the money for it.

Sorry to anyone who might have been affected by this, I just want it to be known that I don't know who this is and I have no affiliation with them.

In other news, fixed tournament ready-up panel and new main menu should be out (hopefully) within 48 hours.
