#10 check out matchmaking in menu in TF2 General Discussion

Thanks for this; with this information it's possible for HUD editors to get their HUDs ready for at least the lobby panel of matchmaking before it hits.

To anyone wondering, the files that fix the competitive menu are the updates to lobbycontainerframe.res and lobbypanel.res.

Sorry for the double post, but immediately after releasing I realized that I forgot to update the item panels on the killcam and when you inspect another player. I've released a hotfix that fixes this as well, which you can download here:

https://github.com/raysfire/rayshud/archive/16f6423b94aecf8dad15ff5cd601f401b5162b50.zip

I've also updated the original post and post #897 to match thisi download as well.

I know a lof you have already downloaded the most recent version though, so I apologize for the inconvenience! :<

rayshud v7.2.2015 has been released!

Sorry for the late update guys! I'm a little rusty to the HUD game and I was very busy today.

It includes the following changes:

- Fixed scoreboards to support campaign medals.
- Fixed item panels when in spectator.
- Fixed mouse-over item panels when in the store, loadout screen, or backpack.
- Added in support for the new weapon skins.
. Fixed the scoreboard columns being displayed improperly.
- Removed the End of the Line duck and added support for the new Gun Mettle campaign on the main menu.
- Moved the location of the campaign button to match with the rest of the menu.
- Shortened the width field of the "Quit" button so it's not accidentally pressed when trying to clear notifications.
- A new version system for the HUD: Version numbers will now be based off of date rather than a random, arbitrary value.

You can download the update here:

https://github.com/raysfire/rayshud/archive/16f6423b94aecf8dad15ff5cd601f401b5162b50.zip

or via the installer by Tree here:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18079550/rayshud_installer.zip

_____

A few notes about this update:

While I was able to fix a lot, there's still a few visible issues with the current version of the HUD. A list of known bugs includes:

- Ping getting cut off of the scoreboard when playing in lower resolutions.
- Misalignment of the tournament spectator panels.
- Misalignment of the background behind the font when inspecting a skinned weapon.
- Borders on the backpack not showing up when "Show Quality Color Borders" and "Show Marketable Borders Only"
- Various elements of the tournament ready up system.

While I'll continue to work on the HUD more throughout the day, unless something changes it looks like I won't be able to keep the current tournament spectator panels unless Valve changes something.

The tournament ready up system is spotty because I didn't have an opportunity to test it earlier although I'm certain various elements within it have changed.

As for the backpack borders and scoreboard clipping; I'll see what I can do over the next few days but I should hopefully be able to throw something together for each of those.

As always, if you have any other issues with this version, please post here so I can be aware of them and do my best to fix them.

Thanks. :3

#10 Team Fortress 2 Update Released Jul 2 2015 in News
flatlineOK so the newest update basically gave me corrupt files and now I'm stuck in an infinite validation loop. The validation finishes and then TF2 goes back into the queue to re-validate. Should I just restart?

Dealing with the same thing. I tried restarting steam, verifying game files, changing download region, opting into a beta build and restarted my PC all with no luck. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one dealing with this.

#483 The Gun Mettle Update in TF2 General Discussion

Dunno if this has been posted or not yet (I didn't have a chance to skim the thread so sorry in advance), but in the advanced options menu you can now enable your mouse on the scoreboard, and when you're in spec if you click on someone's name you can see their current stats, add them as a friend, or quickly start a trade with them.

I'm not sure what this will mean for custom scoreboards, but since it seems to just use the scoreboard player list, I'm hoping most custom HUDs will be okay. Don't know about the stats changing color, though.

Hey guys, just an update so you all know I'm not dead.

For the longest time I had no motivation to work on the HUD because since I don't play this game much these days it was hard to get myself to work on something I knew I wouldn't be using all that often. However, as of late I've been getting back into the swing of things. Although I still don't play the game much, I've found that editing the HUD every now and then is a good way for me to chill out while still being productive and as such I've actually been making a decent amount of progress on the next version (4.0).

I don't want to set an ETA because I don't want to get anyone's hopes up and then miss a deadline (and I don't know how ambitious I want to be with this version), but I do want you all to know that it is something that's still being actively worked on. A few things you can look forward to in the new version will be redone menus, an updated scoreboard, and some updated tournament elements. Don't worry though, I won't be changing the in-game interface much (if any), because I like it how it is and I know that it works well already.

Also, on the off-chance a major update comes out that's extremely HUD-breaking, I'll do my best to get out at the least a hotfix of the current version to make sure everything stays in check. Oh, and sorry about the duck on the main menu. :(

Again, sorry again for the long absence and I'll try my best to keep you guys in the loop. Thank you for being patient with me.

#22 SGDQ 2015 in Other Games

Since another thread about this was made earlier today I figured I'd bump this since the event is ~a month away and it's good to have everything gathered in one thread. I have my flight booked and will, as far as I know, be on the couch for two games: Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse: HD (Monday at ~12pm EST) and Lovely Planet (Tuesday at ~5:15am EST, sigma hype!).

I know Fox is coming for the whole week and Slin is going to be there for a few days as well (although I don't think he's decided what days yet?), dunno about any other TF2 people. Awesome lineup of games though, so it should be a good time this year.

#28 A request for the TFTV stream in TF2 General Discussion
fireindaarcadeIs there an easy way to see what all of the channel emotes are in one place? Maybe I'm just dumb, but I'm not seeing that anywhere.

Here is a link to all of the teamfortresstv Twitch channel emotes. You can also use this website to track emote usage of each emote within this channel, or look at any other channe's sub emotes on Twitch.

The schedule for SGDQ is up! A few things are being finalized, but now you can for sure what and an estimate as to when things will be occurring.

You can find a link to the schedule here:

And I've added a link to the main post.

#4 new reduced stream delay option in Off Topic

Originally they were going to make it for only partners, but it appears they've changed their mind and decided to make it public to everyone.

According to Hassan's Twitter:

Just a correction to my previous tweet (https://twitter.com/BackwardsNinja/status/598597453659508737 …). This feature will go live for everyone tomorrow :). More to come tomorrow!

#103 What game would you play comp other than tf2? in Other Games

If I never played TF2, I probably would've gotten into Smash or CSGO. I still don't think I'll ever enjoy an esport as much as I enjoyed TF2 though; the people are too awesome and I wouldn't trade the experiences I had for anything.

To anyone who's interested in the speedrunning scene, feel free to shoot me a PM and I'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction for your respective games!

THEBILLDOZERwould it be possible to get some jumpers or surfers into these things? its still a type of speed running, and would be great for spectating.

EDIT: Also hype for earthbound and shantae runs!

I think in theory it'd be possible, however they'd probably want to do more than a single map otherwise the setup time would outweigh the actual run time. It'd be cool to submit jumping/surfing as an exhibition to show off the engine's mechanics though, maybe if a group of runners were to submit something similar to the Tetris Grandmaster exhibition of AGDQ? I just don't think anyone's ever bothered submitting before, so its never been considered.

DanceNumberYou better be good enough for next AGDQ rays. I wanna see you on the big screen :D

Can't wait to watch sigma though, if you guys havn't seen lovely planet it is REALLY cool to watch. Its like a speed run fragvideo.

Yeah, the run is pretty insane! If no one's seen it, here's his WR video for it:
