Black-Red-Gold was used since like 1300, Black-White-Red was introduced in 1850 after the failed revolution who also used Black-Red-Gold as their flag. Also Black-Red-Gold got a nice meaning during the wars against Napoleon: From darkness, through blood into the light.

ZestyLimoges, Tours, La Rochelle and Nantes are probably the 4 closest cities with international airports, but idk if any will have direct flights to Frankfurt.
None of them have. Just checked and it's easier to fly to paris and then take a train from there
