I don't flat-out say this about many people, but
bananasaurus, you are a self-absorbed idiot. NA this, NA that. NA so butt hurt. NA so serious. Blah, blah, blah. Your so-called opinion isn't even an opinion; it's just a conglomeration of put-downs and babble. Please stop posting.
That is all.
LiT is not dead. Not at all.
SeagullThere's a few spam angles that are only possible with the original. I used this one everytime my medic was climbing spire on badlands:

For this reason alone I think it's objectively better.
I also think it's better for the current map pool's corners. Lots of people think it just equalizes out since you're better at some corners and worse at others, but it really doesn't. Some corners matter a lot more, like peeking top when defending badlands last. It's way easier to peek that with the original than the normal RL. I actually went through most maps and figured I should swap to left-handed models, but decided against it since I valued the spam angles + easier pogo routes with the original.
i can do all these things
the original is for hosers!
what is happening
why did 4000 people steam msg me the url to this thread today
hmmmmmmmm
it's not funny
obamacare sucks
rr eats heals
i told the truth and was trying not to be racist to rr, which is tough
gimme a break here
rr gets kills, but that kid destroys more healing than obamacare
Quality time is much more important than 'lots of time'. Playing will eventually give you the necessary experience to recognize situations and react accordingly. Once you understand situations and start making good decisions, you should focus on improving individual elements each time you play. For example, work on how to be more efficient at mid fights, or how to push spire more efficiently, etc. Too many teams just go through the motions without ever focusing on improving the little things. TF2 is 75% teamwork and decision-based, and 25% raw DM-based. Yes, I pulled those numbers from my behind, but the gist is that you can spend a bit of time getting yourself to a point where your ability to DM is adequate. Beyond that, you need to play enough to recognize situations and react properly. For some people, that's 2-3 hours a week. For others, it's 5 hours a day.
As far as schedule goes, it's important to find teammates who are as into improving as yourself. Being on a team that wants to spend 3 hours a night working on things when you only have time to spend an hour will not go well. On the flip side, being on a team that wants to play an hour or two a week will become frustrating for you if you want to grind it out and play 2-3 hours a night.
Most of the upper invite players have enough knowledge and experience with the game to play an hour or two a night, 3 or maybe 4 nights a week and stay at the top. I'm not sure how open/IM/main players feel about their own need to practice.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen a computer go on the fritz (read: sluggish/random choppiness) even when doing simple things in Windows and it ends up being a hard drive with crashing heads or just generally being crappy. Hitachi drives are not known for longevity, and you can get a replacement drive for only a few dollars. Hell, I have a million that I don't need and you can have one if you cover the cost of shipping.
An SSD makes a crappy computer a ton better. A mechanical drive is fine as long as it's not trashed. Obviously I can't guarantee this will fix the problem, but there's no reason to not try it.
When you reinstall windows, the ideal driver installation order is:
motherboard chipset drivers
reboot
network drivers
reboot
other drivers
reboot
video drivers
reboot
windows updates (skip over any windows update drivers that will replace your existing good ones)
Some of the reboots aren't absolutely necessary, but do them anyway.
I don't know how old your CPU is, but CPUs do absolutely degrade over time. If it's not 3+ years old, and it's not been overclocked a ton, it's probably not the problem. It may be beneficial to play around with the fresh install (not games) for a while before installing video drivers to see if performance suddenly degrades once the video drivers are installed.
for the love of god, replace your crappy hitachi drive and reinstall windows already
This argument is mostly silly. The only people who are offended by friendly trash-talk are people who are seeking reasons to be offended. Plat got lost in the moment after winning a match with an incredible play and crossed a line with the n-word. He also immediately apologized and made sure it didn't happen again--well before he was warned. Does that make it OK? Maybe not, but at least it's something. I don't necessarily agree with throwing around homosexual slurs in a room full of crowded people, but there is a zero percent chance that it offended anyone who wasn't already looking for a reason to be offended.
If you think, "hey is it too late to get shade back on the roster???" is any worse than, "hey batter batter batter, your mama is a ho!" or any other level of trash-talk that occurs in every other sport, you're misguided. 99% of what was said consisted of silly, in-the-moment, pokes that would have occurred in mumble after a pug all the same.
Homosexual/racist slurs notwithstanding, trash-talking is not a problem, and was actually quite entertaining as a spectator.
If you want to see problematic trash-talk, look to the CS players.
how is this not a thread about cyzer flipping out when seagull tried to hug him? disappointing.
DeathyDid you like... Really have to post this so that everyone can see a retarted discussion between two silver HL leaders? like, really?
watch out
they all retarted
got dam retarts
Hmmm.....
Two 6v6 teams in two separate channels on mumble...
Two team captains with a whisper key for each other...
Gravelpit...
"We're pushing into B from short in 10 seconds"
"We're pushing from C in 5"
Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes.
Or..... Gravelpit where the attacking team has 2 snipers, 1 scout, 1 pyro, 2 spies, 1 heavy, 2 medics, 2 demos, 1 DH soldier.
I approve.
You kids and your colors. Gah. I have two 2412M displays at work and three of the newest 144hz displays at home and unfortunately can tell no difference in colors.
I can say without a doubt, though, that 120hz or higher is a thousand times better when non-gaming than 60hz as far as I am concerned. The smoothness of the mouse coupled with the lack of any image ghosting/blurring far surpasses anything I would ever gain by colors/contrasts on IPS panels.
I have a spectacular 30" monitor as a sidekick that looks great, but 60hz is freakin' awful to look at when any kind of motion is occurring.
