flyingbuddysnowblind returning from his grave to roast alfa I see
i was more referring to the other posts, i'm pretty sure he's joking (at least i really hope so)
edit: also joshuawn's advice in this thread is spot on. good stuff
alfaMGE is probably the worst way to improve as the scenarios you get in MGE happen 2% of the time. Pub server is probably way more useful because of how much shit is going on if you want to learn a new class.
HAHAHA wtf?
people saying mge is bad are retarded. just make sure you use it to practice, and ignore the scoreline. it's actually particularly good for scout because most engagements you have during the actual game will be some form of 1v1. just make sure you don't get tempted to go bitch mode and +back or pistol across the map - it might be good in mge but will literally never happen in the actual game.
there is no single right answer though. every form of challenging yourself at the game will yield results. DM is really great as long as you use it to practice - when I played I committed to every fight and didn't care about dying. pugs are also a great way to practice your aim in the context of an actual game
one thing I think that is overlooked is training your aim under pressure. what I mean by that is constantly putting yourself in situations during your practice (mge/dm/whatever) where you need to hit your shots or you die. if you consistently practice hitting shots under pressure then it translates really well to the game and matches, at least in my experience.
BLoodSireIThere might be a cheating problem and I've been lucky not to have encountered the brunt of it, but whenever I see someone claim another is cheating in Dirty Bomb I roll my eyes a little.
the problem is abysmally bad, none of them play in pub they're all in matchmaking. the only games i've lost in matchmaking are to cheaters who teleport and kill you with 1 bullet through walls instantly. there's also no way to remove cheaters or vote kick/report them, even if they're on your own team (in MM). combined with no VAC the game is a cheaters paradise. 25 hours isnt that much game time, trust me they're there :(
aside from that, game is heaps of fun. devs really need to fix the major issues or people are going to stop playing though
can i make a suggestion that playoffs either all have set maps or all vote/ban?
iirc the upper bracket finals we played against froyo at i52 were set maps, but then the lower bracket wasn't? we were forced to play 4g on our worst maps... we dropped 1 map at i52 that wasn't badlands or gully which was our very last game against mixup. i'm not saying we would have won but some consistency would be nice..
edit: i could be wrong my memory sucks so ignore me if so
blazeI think it was more friendly banter than anything else to spark some rivalry..
if that's the case then nevermind, not as overt as the i52 hype articles. to me the other responses seemed pretty genuine and the nature of the interview was more serious so i wasn't sure if that comment was meant to be serious too... just think it's going to discourage some people from donating when they see something like that
Last year I learned that they pretty much only won if they could backcap, so we’ll see what gimmick they rely on this time around to put rounds on the board.
don't know if i'd say this in an interview asking the community for donations for the 4th year in a row....seems pretty harsh. you guys did win the finals pretty convincingly but the europeans were all impressive players to me and were extremely welcoming to us during our stay
PurpleShirthim and his friends are in mumble right now laughing their asses off

yea he got us guys
do teams actually agree to scrim against a team with a player who has been recently been banned for cheating? seems kinda ridiculous if they do
NA players should consider themselves very lucky that they have a league/competition like ESEA providing incentive to do well (decent cash prizes) and a LAN playoff environment. yes, the company itself has done some questionable things but at the end of the day in my opinion its the best TF2 league in the world (even if its not perfect). community leagues like etf2l/ozfortress/asiafortress, while they do a fine job hosting competitions sadly by nature are not able to offer the same types of services and reasons to keep playing that ESEA does so I would think twice before writing it off completely
