Hello, we are Trans CARE (Counseling, Advocacy, Research, and Education) collaborative at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

We are conducting a qualitative study titled “Understanding Sexual Experiences and Sex Education Needs Among Transgender and Nonbinary People.” This research aims to explore how transgender and nonbinary individuals experience community conversation about sex, sexual experiences, and sexual education throughout their lives. We seek to understand how TNB people navigate these aspects both within trans communities and in broader societal contexts. Our goal is to reflect these experiences in therapeutic practices and educational materials.

We are inviting transgender and/or nonbinary adults (18 years or older) who speak English and reside in the United States to participate. If you are eligible and interested, you will be asked to engage in a one-on-one interview via Zoom lasting approximately 90 minutes. The interview will cover your connection with trans communities, your experiences and understanding of community conversation about sex, and how your sexual education has impacted your life. We will also discuss how your identities, such as race, age, gender, and ability, have influenced your sexual experiences. With your consent, the interview will be audio-recorded for accurate data collection.

Participation is voluntary, and your responses will be confidential. As a token of appreciation, participants will receive $100. Your involvement will contribute to a better understanding of the unique needs of TNB individuals and help improve therapeutic practices and educational resources.
