Haha is this thread still going on? Guess e` is too busy being at LAN and all that.
Odissius, I'm going to run through this once, very clearly, so that maybe you'll actually understand. Chances are by now that you've already -frag'd me and are typing up an incredibly wit-and-logic-filled response, but in the off chance you decided to read more than three sentences, allow me to enlighten you as to why you are currently in the bottom 5 percent of "likable people in the community."
You came up with a pretty reasonable suggestion: increase the FoV limit to 105 from 90. Okay, sure, that'd be nice; there are plugins to do that for vanilla TF2 already, so you'd only need ESEA to unban the plugin, got it. We'll make two assumptions for now: 1) people with the power to change the ESEA Client are reading this thread, and 2) ESEA is willing to make such a change. Most people understand that neither of these are true, though.
Anyway, we'll move on to why people are, in your words, "shitposting," and in everybody else's, "disagreeing" with you. There are three simple reasons for this:
1. When people raise valid points against you (and are agreed with), you simply tell them they are wrong or ignore the point completely, despite it being the general consensus. After seeing somebody disagree with you, rather than point out their mistake or defend your argument with new material, you call them "faggots", "idiots", "shitposters", etc. and offer nothing constructive.
2. When one person does kind of agree with you, you acknowledge them as the only intelligent person in the community (second only to yourself, of course) and praise them heavily, while implying that 99% of the community is wrong and you're the 1% who really knows what's up.
3. As people have mentioned, the extra 15 degrees isn't there for a reason; yes, other games have used higher FoVs in the past, and you're right in that we do change Valve's rules a bit to enhance competitive play. Unfortunately, your strongest reasoning for making the change is that you have (a rare case of) eye strain, while the concerns against this change essentially add up to "it changes the game too much to keep it balanced."
So, three simple points. To sum up succinctly: you're being a huge tool, you're being heavily biased and unwilling to have some perspective (ironic, no?), and your idea holds water but certainly not enough to warrant the change. There you have it, have fun ignoring all of that and calling me retarded.
breloomrip in pizza groudon. who will comfort travis now
You spelled "carry" wrong.
If I remake my recruiting thing will people nominate me? :>
crumpetshitmania will be dead in six months and then the prize pot will be $0
Why would you want a new game to be dead? Shootmania is fun; stale as heck to watch, but the gameplay is fast paced and enjoyable.
I was young and naive. Pls forgive.
Fog donates pizza to casters, people complain. TF.TV
zeph's work schedule is pretty awful, so he can't play as much as we'd all like him to (himself included). We might be looking for someone to replace him (though nobody could replace the void in my heart), so yeah, scouts and demos that have experience, inquire within.
When did being in open become a privilege? There's no such thing as "not good enough for low open", are you kidding me?
L-blockI like how the casters cheer when team dummy loses a round. super classy
I didn't watch all of it, but I didn't see them cheering. I do remember them getting excited about it, simply because they were crushing most of the time.
They were talking about TF2 still being alive and wondering how well top TF2 players would stack up against more qualified teams in Shootmania (apparently the ones they played against were all console/RTS gamers?). It would be sweet if we got a couple of groups together to go up against some top Shootmania players and get more exposure.
They have a professional CS player, but no TF2 players?
:( woohoo for charity I guess.
There are like a billion threads on here about custom crosshairs, just do a search.
DrewArx US casts are watchable at reasonable hours by spectators from US,~10-11PM is definitely not reasonable
lol what
last I checked most of the community didn't have a bedtime

To revise my previous post: it has come to my attention that the crew casting on ESEA will be compensated for their work. This being the case changes the entire situation, as it shifts from ESEA refusing to pay to extine refusing to negotiate.
Whatever the reasons may be, my points still stand: it was shady for people to go behind extine's back, and it's suckish of extine to turn this into a public cluster.
It sucks that ESEA wouldn't pay the casters to do the stream.
It sucks that nobody talked to extine about the change before agreeing to it, especially after they were expected to help him out.
It sucks that extine got really upset about it (which is understandable) and made a vlog to complain about it (this is less understandable).
Bottom line is, it's sucky situation all around. The relationship with ESEA has always been one of necessity and not choice; we always have some issue with ESEA not supporting us enough, but we also don't have an alternative option. It's dumb that ESEA Orange is our best chance of getting exposure, because they have all of the power.
While I agree with extine that it's awful to let them push the community around, I also agree with the casters in that cooperation is the only way to grow the game. On that same note, I think it was a pretty big party foul to go behind extine's back when the casters already commit to teaming up, but it's also not something to deal with publicly first.
