The demoman class can 2 shot classes at every range. How is this a good idea??
4812622syphDepending on the unlock it might make the game just a little bit shittier.
For example the phlogistinator is underpowered but if you happen to get kills with its crits, it's going to be complete bs to die to.
Would you feel better if you were killed by the far superior stock Flamethrower?
If a team is so much better than you that they can kill you with joke weapons and not be punished, then they could kill you just as hard running stuff that is unbannable, like permaHeavy/Sniper/Pyro, or Shotgun-only Soldier, or Crossbow-only Medic, or Pistol-only Scout, or anything. What's ultimately annoying is that you're losing and being disrespected, but banning underpowered weapons won't change the fact that there are teams out there who are better than you and want to BM. You'll still be just as upset.
If a pyro who has been building phlog charge for free with scortch shot or detonator hides behind a corner and kills a few people with 0 skill required that is pretty shitty and should never happen. Even if overall the phlogistinator is an underpowered weapon it can be very strong if you get lucky. That doesn't make the players who died bad, it makes the weapon shitty for competitive.
kmoo0105Pardon my obvious ignorance but if a weapon is underpowered and unbanned, what impact does it have on the game?

mastercoms
Those other games have a fuckton of money so no pro would complain too much for the game's balance. The esports you talk about are strategy games, they are completely different from tf2. Also we have an overpowered aspect that the whole game revolves around, it's the medic's uber. If you wanted to compare tf2 to popular esports then compare it to csgo where whenever valve makes something op they are only hurt the scene.
Also by your logic valve's official matchmaking would be huge right now. If what you like about tf2 is choosing unlocks and countering the enemy's retarded unlocks then fps games are not for you.
mastercomsThis is the one thing holding us back
LOL
MR_SLIN5. They've made a ton of balance changes that favor the comp scene over the casual scene.
Balance changes favor all scenes.
I feel the same for the most part but calling them retarded doesn't do anything.
Also I don't think they are retarded. Most of the questionable changes or the lack of well-known much needed changes, I think just comes from them not giving half a shit about the game.
Depends on your definitiion of real friends
aim-its crazy on how people who haven't had any oppression or racism towards them can just be like 'THIS IS NOT RACIST'
yet the only end of the stick they've been on is just being called out for being corny and trying to classify what is and not racist while not being treated as some second class citizen
I don't have to be a victim of racism to judge when something is racist or not.
I sometimes feel really rusty after not playing for a few days. But that might be placebo and i get back to where I was quite fast.
Marxistnot exactly how I would've tried to balance the crossbow....
Lolwat. The healing just needs to be reduced enough that it doesn't outheal the medigun and only provides a way to heal teamates at longer ranges, and still not do a ridiculous 150 max heal.
On a similar note, i don't know how the pistol's rng could be removed without it being annoying at long range and too strong close range. Maybe a range cap and reduced damage but idk.
AszneeMechaCan we only allow Gunboats, Kritzkrieg, and Ubersaw please? It would improve the quality of game play immensely.
haha yes FRICK the people who like to use the winger, the original, the iron bomber and the crossbow. and also frick rollouts with escape plan too
Obviously you could use the original.
The winger is pretty fucking shitty tbh. Even if it has a pretty big drawback, and might be balanced, missing a shot on a scout because he just pulled out the pistol and his trajectory changed is bs. And it also lowers scout's movement skill ceiling a lot.
The iron bomber is also quite shitty as i die to its shitty rollers as much as the directs.
Yes frick the xbow, it heals too much.
Escape plan is cool though, i'm with you on that one.
michael-i don't entirely agree with everything b4nny said, but the point isn't to get "noticed by valve," it's to try and start on the path towards competitive being a little bit more fluid with casual. i don't think we should unban broken weapons, and weapons that have been patched should be tested first (or just remain banned like the dragon's fury).
dunno how this purely "objective" post transitioned into banning a whole class; that sounds pretty subjective.
I didn't say the post was objective. But the pyro class is objectively broken. and should be banned. Because it objectively makes the game shit.
There is nothing wrong with being more fluid with casual, as long as that doesn't interfere with competitive in a bad way.
B4nny fuck off with your accesibility bullshit. Gameplay shouldn't be sacrificed cause valve senpai might notice you. The goal isn't to have as many items as possible unbanned, it is to ban the objectively shit weapons for better gameplay.
I wish new players didn't have to be alienated from competitive tf2, but if pyro is broken, he should be banned. At least unban him mid-season if he gets fixed. But until then too bad valve is retarded.
