I just prefer Newegg over this PCPartPicker.

Issues With The Old Bot:
- The pug.nahl had bad calculations when it came to the !need command so it would start bad pickings.
- The database structure of that bot was done so horrid and took TOO MANY queries just to get a persons stats. (Let alone any other database related function.)
- The database was so huge because it saved every single game, team, player, what they added as and what they got pick for, let alone the team. (When you start the next round, that crap does not matter anymore.)
- The bot needed 3 messengers because of GameSurge's flooding problems.
- It does not have a finer control of what admin privileges certain levels of op can do. Which partially has to do with why GeeksIRC has half-op, op, administrator and founder.
- Crashed a lot.
- Depending on what it was doing it took 3-12 seconds for it to respond. (Which is sad because this bot supposedly multithreads.)

To answer your complaint about blindsight just getting IP's, I can do just the same by /WHOIS'ing someone on GameSurge who isn't logged in.
You do realize that there are other IRCop's besides blindsight, he will not do anything unless he has a valid reason.
Besides GeeksIRC offers cloaking "IP masking" of the IP address or the important part of the hostmask AUTOMATICALLY ON CONNECT, BEFORE they are logged into NickServ.

Ever since the move #tf2.pug.na has started rounds left and right, does not need messenger bots, does not need to be throttled back and more importantly, it runs faster.
FYI, A step ahead of you. http://webchat.geeksirc.net/(channel)
Example: http://webchat.geeksirc.net/tf2.pug.na
Left Icon = Mibbit, Center Icon = KiwiIRC, Right Icon = qWebIRC
All load balanced between the nodes that they have.

My views on Fog & jaybenaduchi.
If Jay really did kill the screens (thus killing the bots), that is a low blow to do. If Fog wants to move it to a separate VPS or server, I wouldn't fault him for that.
Anyways, what's done is done and it's time to move on.

Just so I can offer my .02 on the GameSurge and GeeksIRC move. The services and IRCd that GeeksIRC runs is more modern. However the bots that run in the many TF2 channels on both of those networks are compatible with either network with just a few code changes, on the other hand, with QuakeNet the bot would just have to interface with Q.
The bot that runs in #tf2.mix.nahl, #tf2.mix.euhl and #tf2.mix.eu is the one that got recreated by blindsight and I, it runs better then the current bots around. It uses the Atheme services that GeeksIRC provides so it can manage the channel better. Let alone the fact that it can switch between 6's and highlander on-the-fly and different game modes.

Now to ask a question for everyone. What does GameSurge have that GeeksIRC does not?
mansfield7pug.na is pronounced "pugnah", not "pug dot n a"
