#13 overclocking problem in Hardware
enigmadoubtful; some chips just overclock better than others

have you considered just using a lower fps_max and adjusting your other accel settings accordingly?

yeh if I can't get this working I'll prob just do that until I can get a new system/parts

the weird thing is while my computer just freezes if I try going to 4.6ghz, after playing around in the bios it seems stable @ 4.5? (see link above) however 20 minutes later it just randomly blue screens

maybe its not my cpu, computers lol

#9 overclocking problem in Hardware

the pump is connected to the pins labeled CPU_FAN, i assume that's right?

temps are definitely down after reseating the cooler/re-applying thermal paste however I cant get over 4.4ghz without it freezing within the first ~5 min of windows starting up, guess my cpu is damaged?

#5 overclocking problem in Hardware

just cleaned my pc out (there was an absolute fuck load of dust in the fans/radiator) and temps are down by a considerable amount (15-20c), might try reseating the cpu cooler / re-applying thermal paste see if i can get it cooler

a friend also suggested having the pc up on my desk instead of on the ground so less dust and shit builds up

#1 overclocking problem in Hardware

lately my computer has been really unstable crashing during scrims etc

I think it has something to do with the cpu/voltage, the problem is I dont get 240fps (I need it for my accel settings) unless its overclocked to like 4.4ghz+

stress testing today its been really unstable (blue screens) with 4.5/4.4ghz @ 1.37v and temps almost hitting 90c, surely thats not right?

the bios settings are fine as far as I know (followed this guide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=en-GB&client=mv-google&v=_fxXB5iiVS0)

right now its 46-48 degrees idle with 4.3ghz @ 1.36v seems way too hot..

I have an i5 2500k, p8z68-m pro and h70 cpu cooler I should have way better temps/stability but yeh no idea whats wrong with it
