#24 Euro 2016 - France - Discussion Thread in Off Topic
Paprika_yes kaneco as much as i appreciate that he has the CL record, my point is that he is not a big game player hence why he was completely irrelevant in the CL final. Also you are proving my point, with that kind of penal record (93%), surely he would be the number 1 penalty taker resulting in almost a guarantee goal. At no point did i ever suggest he isnt an incredible player (probably the most complete ever) i still think that ronaldo wont do in on the international stage. Many great players havent done this, for example look at the english euro 2004 team. This team features some of the biggest names in footballing history such as rooney, lampard, gerrard, terry. None of these players did it, and i feel ronaldo wont either. I apologise if i offended you as youre portuguese, i just think ronaldo wont do it on the international stage, lets see if he proves me wrong :)

I would like to remind u fellow european that other european countries are still other countries and the champions league is in fact an international tournament and he plays well in it. Ronaldo plays almost exclusively on the international stage.

As for the 2014 penalty, I watched the game and heard people say the exact thing and I was completely confused then, and I'm confused people still say the same thing. First of all, Ronaldo may have a big ego, but he is not "egotistical" in a way that would ever be detrimental to his efforts. He really wants Portugal to win. Secondly, why would one of the greatest penalty takers choose not to take a penalty? I told everyone then that it was obviously either a coach or team decision and I heard it was indeed the next day. The penalty in question was to break even and I guess they expected it to work out. Ronaldo was supposed to take the next penalty which would've been the shot to win the game. It was a poor decision, but it certainly wasn't his.

On that note, I'd really love Portugal to win this thing for one and the current team looks promising. Germany also has a truly sick team though and are going for the double gold. Will root for both as long as possible.
Just pls whatever happens, Italy pls go, I'll never forgive u for 2006

Edit: Kaneco where do I get these

lighthouseI think going for crazy airshots (even if they hit) is dumb, not impressive, because there are almost always higher priority targets to shoot at

but if you don't airshot the soldier he can kill you from above

eeethe301stspartaneeeI provided a pretty reasonable argument and yr nerdlogic was "lol no one was even talking about that"

i dont really know how to communicate with someone who can't follow a conversation over 3 pages tbh

Neither of those 2 things have occured.
"I don't like your argument so its not a real argument"

ok

u did say
"tf2 being a circle jerk is so utterly unremarkable that I can't see why you would have bothered to write about it in this thread."
tho

No I said "by your definition tf2 being a circle jerk is so utterly unremarkable that I can't see why you would have bothered to write about it in this thread.", the point being that your definition of "circle jerk" encompasses every game and is thus completely meaningless, to which you replied you never said "circle-jerk", but "community", which is not true since you replied to my comment "tf2 is not a circlejerk" with "it is by definition" to which I then replied that this definition is flawed.

It's time to stop talking about this.

I'm not sure how down syndrome is related to being unable to read, but if I wasn't able to read, how could I have noticed that nothing you wrote in any of these posts makes any sense whatsoever?

btw

eeeIts not "circlejerk" its "community" and I wrote about it because people were pretending that being friends with people isn't an important part of being in Inviteeeethe301stspartan>this does not make tf2 a circlejerk community
it does by definition actually.

it does by definition actually. You can argue the degree, but until a player can make it into invite without speaking to other players or interacting with others, the game will always favor people who are more personable.

If that's your definition of circlejerk, every team game is a circle jerk and everything else is a circle jerk too, and tf2 being a circle jerk is so utterly unremarkable that I can't see why you would have bothered to write about it in this thread.

What do you mean by independent? Tf2 is a team game. To make it into invite, you need a team of 6 people who are better at tf2 than the teams they play against in open and IM and nothing else.

Your tf2 demographics argument makes no sense to me.

Slightly awkward 18-22 year old white guys make up a good 80-90% of the playerbase.

Implying that if you are not 18-22, not awkward, or not white, you have a smaller chance of finding a team? Proof?

Most people here are computer literate

video game

laugh at ironic internet culture, and have a consistent sense of humor.

online community

Feel free to protest how hard it is for 60 year old aboriginal computer illiterates with no sense of humor to make invite but this does not make tf2 a circlejerk community.

I don't see how any 2 invite players have similar personalities tbh.
Everyone is player B at the beginning.

Player B could be good at the game with enough dedication and practice

This is true for almost everyone who knows how to hold a mouse. I really don't see how out of 2 equally talented players starting in open, only the "more likeable" one will be able to improve and make his way to invite. Obviously you shouldn't be an asocial dick if you want to play a team game, but b4nny is living proof that you can make it to the top either way

Yes open players have to get good without already being in invite that's kinda how the whole getting good thing works

BBiA_duchessMouldI reckon scout should get increased spread to lower his midrange damage, also pocket scout is the easiest role in the game
Increasing scout speed would just make him way more powerful than he already is, and he is already the best.....

U have the causality backwards. Everyone in invite doesn't know everyone in invite because tf2 is a circlejerk community that doesn't let anyone in, everyone in invite knows everyone in invite because this game's competitive community has consisted of the same handful of players for 9 years.

Give one example of a player who has demonstrably played at invite level consistently over a significant amount of time and has never been picked up by an invite team/had the chance to form one.
