Yeah, this would definitely make the most sense, even though the ship in the blackwater scene looks really big for a knarr, but I guess this could be the type of ship they're going for. This would put Yara with her fleet of caravelles at a huge advante though lol, if they have bows and arrows on board good luck to Euron facing her fleet with his fleet lol.

INSOpinions, that others seem to never share? For the love of God, do not let sheepy see this thread.
He doesn't consider any of his opinions unpopular
I would pay the creator's weight in lydian gold for an improved hammer UI.
This is a great start, thanks for making this!
HoodieI mean, the Ironborn are supposed to sail longships, which can house a crew of maybe 30 men at best. They aren't huge or particularly intricate, so it is feasible that an entire population set to the task of making a huge fleet in a short span of time is possible. Also there are several islands that the show hasn't shown us aside from Pyke, so any of them could be forested idk.
30 men per ship would make 30k men in crew alone and I don't think that would be enough men to actually build the fleet so they must have extra men in reserve. 30000 would be a larger army than Robb's united northern forces. And yeah, sailors might not be the greatest soldiers, but they can surely hold a pike and if they have that many men, I can't see how any of the houses except the Lannisters and Tyrells could "swat them down like flies" and conquer them that easily.
Maybe the whole 1000 ships thing was just a hyperbole, or maybe Euron is just a total incompetent ass and finds this out the hard way next episode lol
ref links get deleted
Wow quality posts, cool.
But yeah, this
BUT the effect of this would lead to severe deforestation and later soil erosion, basically having to deal with a lot of enviromental problems.
The Persian fleet you mention was full of ships ordered to that location from all over the empire and the Persian empire was incredibly vast. The same can be said about the Romans as they gained land and resources.
On the show at least, the iron islands look like they're just a bunch of rocks with not much growing on them.
After the past episodes I'm really not sure about the iron islands' size and population in the show.
-They have enough of a population to apparently build a gigantic fleet at sanic speeds
-They have enough sailors to man that gigantic fleet
-They have so many men that the crews of the maybe 100 ships Yara made off with were such a distinct minority that they wouldn't dare to rise up against Euron at the King's moot.
BUT
-They get "swatted down and conquered" by the houses of Westeros on a regular basis
The last 2 are especially weird to me since the crews of this fleet
http://puu.sh/pkC0P/d6eb28dcd3.jpg
alone would make for a sizeable army in westeros. And apparently there are significantly more men yet in Euron's camp (at least 10 times as many if he is actually gonna build and man his 1000 ships).
Ironborn powerlevel is unclear to me
Are the necessary ports open?
Can you ping the servers from cmd?
Ombrackthe301stspartanDamnEasynot much happened though lolAlso I'm confused about Yara's plan. What's her plan?
IIRC, Yara has the 1000 boats, she and her men stole them while her uncle was crowned. That's why Euron urges his followers to build some new ships in episode 6. Yara has the cards, Euron doesn't.
Nah she stole the best ones they had at the time, I'd guess maybe 100 or so from the looks of it. They only started planning the 1000 ship fleet at the king's moot.
That whole scene was really confusing anyway. Theon said that "many" of the attendees had served under Yara. And she had enough loyal men to make off with the majority of their ships. Yet at the end of the moot, the crowd unanimously yells for Euron, despite him having murdered their previous king. This must mean that all the guys who hailed Euron must have believed that Yara wasn't fit to execute Euron's plan, maybe because they thought him marrying the dragon queen would be a good idea. Either way, two things can be deduced from this: 1. there must have been a lot more people at that moot than the scene makes it look like and 2. Yara's (loyal) followers must be a clear minority among the ironborn at the moot. So there's no way she actually has 1000 ships under her command because I don't think that many men could possibly be a minority on the iron islands' king's moot.
Also, Ironborn must have the blood of sanic in them because they ran ashore, rowed to the ships and readied the whole fleet to sail off within Euron's like 5 minute coronation. And they're also building a fleet of 1000 large ships in a manner of weeks I guess?
I don't know if this is actually realistic if tens of thousands (maybe more?) of people work on them but it seems ridiculous to me (for reference the Spanish Armada was a fleet of 130 ships, cost 2/3 of the spanish empire's income and took several years to build). Someone with shipbuilding experience clear this up for me
Revolutionary update!

DamnEasynot much happened though lol
Idk, I think a lot happened. I tend to like these episodes that set up a lot of new plots better than the ones where they're all resolved and nothing else happens.
Also I'm confused about Yara's plan. What's her plan? She sails to find Daenerys, knowing that the ass uncle whose name I forgot is gonna be right behind her with 1000 ships, and that meeting's gonna be like
"oi girl, I got 1000 ships u want?"
"sure where the ships at tho"
"uh uncle ass over there actually has the ships I only have like 50 ships lmao but you have dragons right so just fly over there and take them btw he's gonna offer them to u anyway but uh just go and take them cause he's a dick ok also can u help me get my islands back?"
Knowing Dany this might actually work and if uncle ass got to her first, he's obviously dragon fodder and she will just take the ships but if I was Yara and didn't know what she is like I'd feel a bit awkward about this plan.
I assume what's gonna happen is they both arrive there kind of together, ass uncle is gonna make his offer, Dany sees he's a huge turd but needs an ironborn to command the ships, teams up with Yara as the lesser evil and feeds uncle ass to the dragons? Either way uncle ass is gonna be fed to the dragons, calling it now.
fundraiser to go to lan = personal paypal link to buy new gpu for overwatch ??
ur havin some fuckin wild brain functions there my man
It's a hyperbole, a humorous device pointed at the fact that many fundraisers are not transparent in disclosing what the money goes towards and occasionally scam donors out of their money; the point being that all of those are substantially more severe cases of self-promotion than a ref link with no monetary value.
I hope I was able to clear this up for u
