Toastrz97Personally, I just got off of the most emotional phone call with my best friend, and ended up saving her life. That lead me to wonder what this communities' most emotional experiences have been in life. The experience could be depressing, inspiring, heroic,or whatever.
Share away!
That's great you helped her. Just make sure she seeks professional care immediately or you could have a repeat in the future. The sooner she gets help the better for her, you, and everyone.
It could be a HUD related crash as well. Have you tried another HUD?
Would still like to see this updated though if possible.
Was just about to use this to create spawns for metalworks. It doesn't work with the new TF2 directory since the SteamPipe update. Any chance for a fix for it to be the default? :>
I just upgraded from 4gb crappy RAM to the exact RAM Waldo suggested above. I love it so much. I can multitask as much as I want now and nothing slows me down.
That fixed it. Wow. You're awesome. Why have I never needed that before?
This just in: it worked on a live match I just now started watching. I saw some open team was currently playing and decided to connect to the server and it works.
It appears to only not work on .dem files (not POV, just to clarify).
Right. Ya, I do the same thing as you by exec-ing that config over and over. Like I said it used to work.
I've never had to hud_reloadscheme before to get it working, but I guess I'll try that now.
I definitely have all the correct settings enabled. To remove the possibility of me being a screw up I always run TF2 from a special shortcut when I want to use advspec. I use the following target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 440 -high -novid -window -noborder -w 1920 -h 1080 -dxlevel 90 -insecure
Then once I'm in game I exec a config called spec.cfg which contains the following commands:
glow_outline_effect_enable 1
plugin_load addons\advspec
advspec_toggle_outline
When that config is executed, the following appears in my console:
Loading unsigned module addons\advspec
Access to secure servers is disabled.
Advanced Spectator Plugin b2 loaded!
Loaded plugin "addons\advspec"
in here
As Slin mentioned I usually toggle it on and off to make sure it's on.
Edit: Also I just checked to verify I do have the most current version.
Is this not working for anyone else? It's worked for me for a long time, and then today it all of the sudden doesn't.
I've changed nothing in my setup so I wonder if Valve broke something.
It seems to load successfully according to console, I just can't get the outlines to come on despite having glow_outline_effect_enable 1 set.
I can see how it could be interpreted like that, so sorry for the miscommunication on my part. The important point I am trying to get across is that it is more efficient (for storage, backup, and migration purposes) to just use the custom folder now. That's why it was made. It consolidates everything. It's beautiful. Valve loves us.
