Hey deathanchor, so I read the first page of this thread and skimmed the rest (I'm at work). I know you don't get paid very much to do these predictions and articles but I think if next time, once you have looked at the rosters and picked the teams you think are deserving of being in the power rankings, if you took a little time to message someone from each of those teams to get a little bit of accurate info for the team write ups you wouldn't have as many complaints.
Stochast1cAssuming you have headphones that you enjoy, then I would recommend just getting a mic and an adapter so that you can plug in both mic and headphones.
The standard cheap but good microphone is the Zalman clip-on:

To plug in your mic you will need an adapter which I would recommend this:

I just got that mic and some sennheiser earbuds for when I go to lans. Its a really nice mic for the price, sounds good.
DrPootisventureBeing that iv'e played TF2 for over 1000 hours without getting into competitive, iv'e been wondering how to really get out into the scene somehow. I've been playing tf2 lobby recently (100 matches), and I've been wondering about the next step.
(FYI I main Spy/Engie, Demo, Medic, in that order, I've played in a UGC Iron 9V9)
You need to figure out what type of TF2 you want to play. Highlander (9v9) is more casual and easier to get in to. If you want to play 6v6 you need to forget about maining spy/engy, as those arent really used in comp 6v6 unless its a very specific situation.
For 6v6 all teams run 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, 1 demo, 1 medic. Focus on those classes if you want to break into 6v6. Do some more lobbies and then move over to irc and try #tf2mix and go from there.
Blackymonster, having been around since season 3, just came off of playing invite last season as medic. If he sticks with med going back into open he's probably going to tear things up with the pocket no matter who it is. I'd HOPE it would be thr4sher, however I know he can roam as well.
blacky is scout, im roaming.
Honestly if you are looking to spend around $30 your only real option is a WMO 1.1a
If I were you I'd hold on to that money and save up a little more and get a deathadder or zowie am.
Great roamer. Abuses unlocks very well. Any newer players should take him up on this offer.
If anyone else is driving from anywhere near Philly I MAY go if there is a carpool going on
$600+ to fly
$140ish for train (12 hour trip each way)
I really want to go but it's not lookin good :/
options for pushing last:
1.) sac a scout and have them come up as a pick class (sniper/spy), wait for a pick and push with uber.
2.) cause a heavy distraction on one side (fake an actual push, show your medic a little if they dont have a sniper), and have the roamer try to pick the med or force a pop.
3.) roll with momentum from 2nd and get position on last before they can setup to defend.
The zowie am, or the steel series xai are probably the closest as far as shape/size goes to the WMO that you are going to find.
I'm bringing my laptop, it's got a 120hz display if you want to take a look
Hopefully we have enough players to do actual teams this time, but if not we can do a draft again like last time.
I'm going too, been paid up for weeks
