never doubt the health-pixel of endurance
the base jumper's pretty explicitly failed the intended design, also. if you recall the blog post that first mentioned it:
Being airborne provides strategic position benefits, but at the cost of maneuverability. Increased movement options against Pyros and Demomen are balanced by increased exposure when fighting Heavies and Snipers.
it works well against everyone, and the actual negative effect is simply "it's not gunboats so you take more self-damage", a negative that even gets softened a bit, since you can pretty easily negate all fall damage
deetrWhether or not they will use them in a matchmaking mode is unknown. They didn't use pro versions of maps in csgo mm and instead tried to add some of the changes the pro versions made that they liked into the regular versions of the maps.
I sort of assumed this is why viaduct_pro has that awkward new name of product. I mean, if TF2 can have weird halloween versions of maps, I don't see why they couldn't have pro variants, style them up as "alternatively-themed of old classics" since a lot of them are also artpassed for a more summer-like season
DamnEasyPhoenix21DamnEasyYou know tide turner is worse then chargin' targe right? Chargin' targe give more resistant, and people dont actually use the shield to demoknight they use it for the resistant and use pipeswell as of the last update, you're wrong :)
What was in the update?
it was an accidental nerf that slightly took away explosive/fire resistance, and it's already fixed
coming heavily from fighting games, "I don't like it" isn't even remotely a good argument, and sounds more like the moans of someone who can't be bothered to adapt. up until the game's pace breaks as hard as quick fix on gullywash, this is irrelevant to any real design, as there's a lot of balanced things in competitive games that perhaps you don't want to deal with
phlog is a good example of this; yeah, it's a pretty terribly designed weapon, but that's against pyro's favor because it completely guts the one reason anyone would ever use him, the airblast
maelstromdeetrXiaomi Piston 3
there goes the thread
it's an easy answer, but then you end up coming to the question of "who actually sells them legit and who's just selling knockoffs", because that happens real often with them
nobody knew the ID of the shooters until today, and the avg american shooting always seems to end in gun control debates otherwise
deetrI don't play dota but I have seen people with different huds on streams so I think you can do it but I'm not sure how.
DOTA has HUDs people can pay for on the workshop, last I checked. I don't think TF2's community would handle a similar concept, at the very least because we're used to free open-sourced HUDs, but also because I'm definitely certain that DOTA's HUD customization was designed to be far less fragile by comparison
if valve is smart:
-take out the exploits that cause stuff like transparent viewmodels (since those can be provably used for wallhacks)
-add a command to change viewmodel opacity (or just set it in r_drawviewmodel, so "r_drawviewmodel 0.5" would be 50% alpha)
-create an official open-source repository for all the HUD shit, so then they can just say "welp, it's up to you now"
view model opacity could also be an ez workaround to valve's business-POV of "we need viewmodels to sell skins", since a 10% opacity that you can pretty easily see through would still show off your fancy skin
(I'd also want a crosshair customization system built-in that basically boils down to "import an iconfont and move it where you want", making stuff like knuckles' crosshairs 100% compatible + standard, but I doubt that'll ever happen)
isn't cali one of the more gun-control-heavy states anyways?
it's pretty roundly a terrorist attack, though the fact that even federal intel knows nothing about the context beyond that is a bit odd
(also, quick reminder that misinformation is always inevitable)
again, nobody cares about the skins themselves, its the major FPS hit caused by really terrible implementation
kirbyDo you think their mentality, considering this to be true, that people without rarer skins will see them on, say, a killcam and think, "oh wow, that skin is amazing! I need to buy it/the crate!"? Besides that, I can't imagine what other importance forcing skins in competitive has. It's not like I'm gonna see some guy with a top notch, factory new, unusual weapon skin and think he's good at the game or anything. I guess some people are that naive.
this is already an objectively incorrect statement within a bubble of TF2, also. people judge you if you have only default loadout with no other items and/or wear pyrovision+gibus, and conversely the dude with a fancy unusual + a conga is the one everyone pays attention to during the pre-game minute
wickedplayer494Feel free to take shits on me all you want, but the fact of the matter is Valve can't afford to keep supporting your antiquated setups forever. If anything you should be thankful that they even bothered supporting XP and DX8 past 2013.
I built this computer in the past year, and I am required to keep dxlevel at 8 and FPS configs on lowest for no FPS stuttering. my system is not fucked up, nothing's wrong with it, and I have specs that's good enough for any other game I want to play, TF2 just has no real optimization
it's not entitlement to want to play the damn game I bought in 09
flamedota 2 and csgo have had skins the entire time. you guys need to calm down
dota 2 and csgo are actually optimized within reason for those skins
TF2 is a particle-laden CPU hog
they didn't say it "outright", is the important thing. that's a throwaway reddit account, the post was delete almost immediately
