Nursey confirmed on stream that Ronin isn't going. She said mostly everyone was okay with going but they weren't comfortable getting a ringer.

This is a perfectly reasonable video that addresses a lot of the core complaints within this update. The only point I disagree with is the removal of Quickplay in favor of Casual mode. At this update's current state Casual mode is the only refreshing part. It reminds me of when I pubbed back in 2010 and everyone in the sever actually played the objective and tried to win. I don't support the idea that makes it a no fun zone and super competitive, it's literally the game at its core.

I know the season is almost over, but it would be super helpful if teams communicated with me about time changes, especially if they are not in line with what is scheduled on this site. I posted this match/event last night and it was scheduled for 11:00pm on ESEA, but no one notified me of a change. If you didn't make this post, we would have missed the first half of the game entirely.

Match has been pushed back to 1am EST. Not sure if it's going to be rescheduled but if things remain the same, we'll be having a double header.

I'm not sure if this is 100% true. AFAIK Ronin is paying for the flights, the players will likely need to pay for room and board. That said, flights are not booked yet and no announcement has been made whether or not the players are going. I imagine they might be waiting for the season to end, but that is cutting it very close, especially if they need any funding.

It seems like reddit has been blowing up about MM now that Casual is mostly fixed. It was impressive how quickly they tackled the issues with Casual after the reddit shitstorm, it would be great if they did the same with Matchmaking. Hopefully Valve understands that making somewhat transparent posts like this helps put people's minds at ease and understand what the hell is going on. If they continue this line of communication I think the game can be changed for the better much faster than the past.

Also, Sideshow might be talking about some other annual TF2 event that happens in the summer. A major would be super exciting, but that isn't going to happen until your average TF2 player is playing matchmaking.

I know a lot of people think b4nny kisses Valves ass, but do you really think Mike, UncleDane, and myself defend Valve to the grave? I can't speak for everyone on the set, but I sure as hell don't. However, I'm not going to stand up and cry as loud as I can before I experience this update (and the problems therein) for at least a week.

My matchmaking button no longer works. When I am in a matchmaking lobby (through friend invite) the UI is messed up as well. Are there any files I can change/delete to set them to default for the time being?

The more casual players in the community that are making the transition to competitive. The biggest part of the community. The people that need to embrace comp if we ever want this game to go anywhere.

Not sure what you're implying but I think it's important to get perspectives from players that have different backgrounds.

EDIT: b4nny has informed RONIN cannot reschedule the game so they are playing tonight.

I got to level 10 in matchmaking by solo queuing default Engineer loadout on an alt account. It's currently viable as the playerbase isn't that great. If you are unable to do well with Engi in the current state of matchmaking you might not be very good at the game.
