knuckRemember when CEVO basically killed the game by trying to get people to play in a different league? Alright nice now let's just make it a different game, what could go wrong??

Sure make a promod but get ready to only play the game in a pugchamp style with huge skill gaps

If you are gonna kill the game though, rebuild the game entirety so we can get a new network code, flat textures, mono color player models. No cosmetics so we can get actual good frames. After you've built the whole thing the game will be dead anyway and we can play it as a fun pug thing

im asking if he's dumb becuase he doesn't seem to realize why that what he said gives off the impression that he thinks he better or smarter than people
also stop straw manning me send1. you're not an elitist for believing your game should be skill-based
2. those mechanics don't have to be hidden if there was a proper fucking tutorial or if competitive wasn't obscure as fuck
3. he probably is better and smarter when it comes to tf2 than most of the playerbase but regardless of that there's nothing that implies that he is better than anyone else, he just wants the game to have a high skill ceiling. i want the game not to be pandered towards bad players, and i could probably be beaten by every player on this threadhe's saying that anyone who doesn't like the mechanics he likes is an idiot
alot of people in this thread don't like pyro but to remove pyro from the game would be to dumb it down becuase it would remove mechanics so by his logic people who want to remove pyro are appealing to idiots
and this pro mod would remove alot of mechanics from the game would it not dum down the game?
what is skillful is completely determined by you personally to deem anyone who doesn't have the same definition of what makes up skill an idiot is what makes you an elitist

Maybe when source 2 finally comes out.I'm inclined to agree. These days the way I think about it is: Overwatch is the League of Legends to our DotA, now we're just waiting on our own Dota 2.

tf2 has no strategic depth
comparison between tf2 and overwatch is honestly retarded tf2s skill comes almost entirely from mechanics whereas overwatch internationally dumbed down some mechanics to allow other components of skill to thrive,granted a lot of it was probably just to bring in more casual players who don't want to learn nuanced mechanics like bunny hopping, rocket jumping, surfing, and air strafing.
I enjoy those mechanics too, but the problem with them is there almost secrets to alot of new players, people have literally made it to invite without knowing what ctapping i don't think new players want to be hindered because they don't know about "secret mechanics". So the options are remove them entirely or try to compose lengthy ingame tutorials to teach people the mechanics they chose option one and i can understand why.

remove spyAs much as I don't enjoy playing against those classes doing so would further remove the players who are currently playing the game now casually away from touching competitive.
At the end of the day those players are what make up those steam stats keeping us up there.
(And yes, I know that doesn't make the competitive community bigger it just gives us immediate options and advertisement of our competitive format though the twitch stuff and matches being or at one point were announced in world wide chat.) Although making it so those players understand why and when they can play say a class like spy is viable in the format we have right now would be immensely better.
