#26 More dumb stuff you can do with the item schema in TF2 General Discussion
thesupremecommandervtableNote that this plugin will break attributes for a period of time after an update that changes the schema, while the client and servers' attributes are out of sync.

After a *schema update*, not a content update. These are silent and happen more frequently.
Well, the server's item schema isn't updated until the server is restarted, so it doesn't make much of a difference. Most major schema updates come with a server update anyway.

If that is an issue, though, the server has to be restarted. There's no way around that, as the schema download occurs at startup.

I'm talking about cases when the client has a newer schema than the server, because it hasn't restarted.

#7 i52 Stream Postmortem and GXL in TF2 General Discussion
atmoTournament brackets on stream would have been cool.

Casters weren't prepared for replays.

+1 on the above.

For whatever it's worth, I would also like to say that the camera work was by far the best part about the stream for me. I had never seen a TF2 cast that was anywhere close to being as action packed as the i52 casts were. Whatever you do at GXL, keep the 20 second log hack working, it was brilliant and I couldn't stop watching the games.

#2 Mac supported HUDs? in Customization

Don't know about 4:3, but omp's works perfectly on OS X @ 16:10. Out of curiosity, are you running TF2 on a different resolution than your desktop? Whenever I try that (or do it accidentally), I get all sorts of mouse weirdness.

#101 i52: Grand Finals in Events

Multiplay's production for the grand finals was pretty lame, at least compared to the brilliant camera work yesterday.

Anticlimatic, but oh well, gg.

#23 Let's talk Ferguson in Off Topic
marmadukeGRYLLSif cops are forced to wear cameras their behavior won't change as much as people think. there will simply be more "camera malfunctions," and footage being outright "lost." so while the people being wrongfully arrested/detained/whatever will have a better shot at getting the case thrown out, there will still be no punishment/deterrent for officers to change behavior.

California police use of body cameras cuts violence and complaints

"But Rialto's randomised controlled study has seized attention because it offers scientific – and encouraging – findings: after cameras were introduced in February 2012, public complaints against officers plunged 88% compared with the previous 12 months. Officers' use of force fell by 60%."

I know this is standard practice but thanks for announcing on the Steam group, I'd have missed it otherwise.

Nice show from both teams, gg.

#28 tablet + college? in Hardware

If you have the bux, get a MacBook Air. It's lightweight, has instant boot, 7h+ battery life, nice keyboard, runs all the shit you need. If you end up needing to run some old ass Windows-only software it can easily run a VM.
