TwiggyThe thing is we can't ban stock weapons to my knowledge, so it would be very easy to just ban a few weapons and play regular 6v6.
You are correct, plugins are needed to disable them or change them into other weapons, whitelists can't disable stock weapons (you can block renamed or strange stock weapons though).
ArticleThe team size will be six and the current ETF2L class limits will apply - two of any class that begins with 'S'
ETF2L RulesS19 6v6 Rules
Class limit 2, except for Medic, Heavy, Engineer, Sniper, Pyro and Demoman limited to 1
Which one is it?
Next weekend somewhat more restricted matches whitelists banning broken weapons and taunts?!
I really hope the invited players actually own unlocks and haven't all crafted them to metal :P
If you upload the UGC config files to your \tf\cfg folder on your server and execute the correct config file for the right map/gametype the whitelist and settings will all be correctly loaded.
To only update the whitelist file, make sure you download the newest on the UGC website and upload it as item_whitelist_ugc_HL.txt (or 4v4 or 6v6 instead of HL) in the same \tf\cfg folder as where the config files are stored. UGC configs will now use the new whitelist file when executed.
Executing the whitelist manually (with a custom one for instance) is possible by uploading the whitelist .txt file to the cfg folder and changing the loaded whitelist file with the following console command:
rcon mp_tournament_whitelist "cfg/whitelist_filename.txt"
rcon mp_tournament_restart
If your server is running TFTrue you can use whitelist.tf and enter the whitelist ID in TFTrue with 'tftrue_whitelist_id' to have a custom (or updated league) whitelist on your server.
I'm editing the default hud to my liking but I can't seem to align the positive health pickups/regen to the right of their bounding box so I can position it just to the left of my health plus.
textAlignment (east/right), pincorner, changing the hudanimations_tf 'ResourcePickup' with r0 did nothing, how do I get this text to align to the right?
Some updates by Valve forced me to make some changes on whitelist.tf
- Taunts are now displayed per class and have icons
- Weapons have item attributes and descriptions displayed
- Automatic updating of item sprite and CSS for up to icons
[/olist]
Besides the changes on the website there has been a lot of progress/changes/support/whitelists generated since the last post. serveme.tf and TFTrue fully support whitelist.tf and always guarantee the newest whitelist files on your server if an ID is set in your reservation or the convar:
tftrue_whitelist_id
CEVO, ozfortress, WirePlay, MEfortress all use whitelist.tf for their whitelists files in their configs.
Planned feature is a Steam Login so you can keep track of the whitelists you've generated and add your own descriptions so you can keep a list of favorite whitelists. Also multi-language support would be a fun extra to have I guess.
A textual representation of the allowed/blocked weapons and filtering only the allowed/blocked weapons will be added first, so TF2 Leagues can finally have complete and correct ban lists for items/weapons instead of the garbage most leagues have in their rules at the moment.
AndKennethJust an FYI from the TF2Center team, running lobbies with a modified whitelist can get your lobby creation privileges revolked because it has been abused quite heavily in the past.
There is chat history for the TF2C lobbies iirc, if a leader mentions a different whitelist and possibly posts a whitelist.tf link to show the unlocks to the joining players why would it need a password?
Also, who is stopping me from using a UGC, CEVO or Wireplay whitelist with ETF2L/TF2C class limits if my server is set up like that? ;)
Everyone knows that most Team Fortress 2 Leagues lack up to date whitelist files most of the times, so your newest hat, jacket, weapon reskin or taunt can't be equipped on the day Valve releases an update with new items.
whitelist.tf will respect the item and weapon bans set by the league whitelists (if you pick a preset from one of the leagues) and allows you to modify this with a couple of clicks to allow new weapons to play-test them in lobbies/mixes/scrims while also updating all the allowed/blocked Cosmetic items. Reskins will automatically be allowed if the original version of the weapon is.
If your server is running TFTrue you can use the following console variable to change the whitelist on the fly (works for public servers too if TFTrue is installed!)
tftrue_whitelist_id <ID>
Running TFTrue on your server allows for instant switching of your whitelists, without needing FTP access to upload the newest version of any whitelist file generated on whitelist.tf and is always up to date with the newest version of the Valve itemscheme whilst respecting original weapon/item bans.
Example
ETF2L S18 6v6 whitelist with ID 866 => allow B.A.S.E. Jumper & Back Scatter => Generate => ID 1150
To update the ETF2L whitelist from the start of the season to the current version with all allowed taunts you end up with 1155.
Use this ID for the TFTrue convar and play-test with the new weapons or link the whitelist to the people on your server/friends list to show which items and weapons are allowed or banned on your server.
(Allowing all new weapons and taunts on the S18 whitelists resulted in ID 1152)
DaMeiN, at the moment we have a restriction that you need an ETF2L profile to be able to play. This is so we have some way to detect possible 'skill' based on team/match history and we have a consistent user name (so we don't need to use/filter Steam user names). Also there are only 10 European servers and no NA/AU/SA servers/support yet.
If there are more TF2 Leagues with APIs to figure out a skill/div/team rank and consistent user names we can add those to be one of the 'required' leagues to create an account to keep track of your pickup history.
Currently we only have European Servers at our disposal from Simrai.
The whitelist doesn't have many unlocks, only 10. And the amputator instead of the overdose for the medic...
Hopefully they have some talent over there so we can see some decent matches!
CygnastyLooks like you've got to update your UGC whitelist preset
This is why any league admin should contact me after generating the new whitelist for their season, I can update the preset to the new ID, everyone then downloads/sees the newest version of the whitelist for their league and game mode.
But UGC seemed to be kind of childish in their responses when I asked them anything about their whitelist. The new one should be http://whitelist.tf/109 (and your url needs some http:// in the tag)
So the whitelist was http://whitelist.tf/106
Whitelist generation on whitelist.tf is working now.
- Changed menu with the presets
- Added a bunch of presets (ozfortress, AziaFortress, Wireplay, CEVO)
- added the requested 'allow new items added to tf2' setting
- working 'Show reskin' toggle
- direct download of the .txt files possible
- updated the help and about pages
Please create new whitelists and please report any bugs you might encounter (and what you did so I can reproduce the error). Any positive/negative feedback or feature requests are also welcome.
