Just updated to version 1.3.2.

Changelog1.3.2
Fixed a critical issue where models would be rotated by 90 degrees at the start of an animation.
Settings are now saved between launches using .NET's internal Settings framework.
  • The previous registry entry has been updated to use this same framework.
Fixed some small grammatical mistakes.
Fixed an issue where returning from an unhidden inspect animation to a hidden idle animation would bug out.
Polished how the image guide behaves.
Added an application icon, which also shows in the About window.
Added icons to the class tabs.
Updated the localization files.

Just to add onto what SLIN said, also keep in mind that Melee has been heavily reverse-engineered. There are huge mods that completely revise gameplay, on top of the fact that the versions played competitively are often custom-tailored for tournaments.

If we had the source code to TF2, we as a community could improve it. We don't have that luxury.

dashnerI don't buy the bullshit that Valve is no longer a game developer and only maintains in-game economies/steam. Valve goes through tons of concepts and development plans for titles that simply never see the light of day because it simply is not up to their standards.

While mostly true, keep in mind that the majority of their staff have transitioned to VR development, because that's what interests them.

alright basically I fucked up the model decompile, my b. some source viewmodels have a 90° offset during compilation and some don't, and I probably used the wrong setting so it's rotating everything. Will fix in a little bit.

Edit: turns out I'm a fucking idiot and forgot about EDIT1 from this post.

Just updated to version 1.3.

Added a new About window.
Added a visual image guide.
Included the installation of a preloader during the compilation process.
  • This adds preload_room.bsp to the Maps folder, and adds the following line to autoexec.cfg:
    • map_background preload_room; wait 10; disconnect
Updated for the most recent viewmodel changes (as of 10/16/2016).

Now that Carn's preloader is included, this method works absolutely everywhere. Good luck Valve.

EDIT: Just encountered that bug where it crashes when it starts trying to install with an End Of Central Directory error. I think I know how to fix it, give me a little bit.

  • Built-in preloader

Not sure when it'll be done honestly. Hopefully tonight but who knows.

The monitors of the XL series can provide 120 or 144Hz exclusively through a DVI dual link cable (which is provided with the monitor). No 120Hz image can be displayed through HDMI cable at any resolution.

That's an interesting quote because they broadly state "the XL series" even though my XL2420Z has a DP 1.2 and definitely can do 144 with it. Hell, the only two monitors in the 9-monitor XL lineup that don't have DP1.2 are the 2411T and 2411Z.

Interestingly, the XL2420T does list that the HDMI/VGA ports can provide a range from 24-120Hz vert frequency: link

So maybe some displays do support it, at certain resolutions. Who knows though.

SetsulDVI is the only way to get 144Hz on the BenQ XL2411Z/T just like on most 1920x1080 144 Hz monitors.

Do most not support DP? Huh.

It's not that valve is "killing TF2", TF2 has always had a ticking timer of relevancy. The issue is valve at this point in time are pretty much the only people capable of resetting the timer. Issue is, the way they're handling things, they're making the timer tick even faster. Half-baked releases, slow confusing response times, seemingly disconnected decision making. These have always been prominent valve issues but they become even more apparent now more than ever with the handling of matchmaking and maintaining interest in the game.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Rather than letting the timer go on normally, passively killing the game by not doing anything, they're taking an active approach to try and reset the timer. However, in reality, the things they're doing are actually making it tick faster.

I was just trying to say it in one sentence.
