I know RGL responded immeadiately to the controversy and made clear its stance on treating fellow players with respect, so it can’t be that you didn’t take those incidents seriously. I’m left thinking that you think your idiotic rule is even remotely of equal caliber of importance and severity as actual sexual harassment, transphobic behavior, racism, etc. Why bring that whole mess up when we’re having a discussion about RGL? Where the heck is your sense of scale?

I’ll be honest, I find RGL 7’s kind of interesting. It’s definitely not something we’re used to seeing, and I appreciate it for that at the very least. I still prefer 6’s, but I sometimes tune in to an RGL match if I think it’s gonna be good. I don’t think I fall in the category of people who objectively hate your league and format, but you know what turns me off from RGL sometimes? It’s all this idiotic stuff you do!

You go to the ends of Earth to defend and justify everything your league does, and it’s actually just outright dumb sometimes. I don’t need you to tell me how great a format Prolander is on commentary when I’m ALREADY WATCHING THE MATCH. And then, outside of matches, I see the league administrator constantly get in these idiotic fights on tf.tv and pull out this hyperbole comparing sexual harassment to a rule change. Really?

Dude. Relax. People are going to criticize you, especially in your position. Whatever controversy you generate, you doing idiotic shit like you’re doing right now is just gonna compound everything for you. A more general rule like this as opposed to a rule targeting a specific team is definitely much more likely to be accepted and way less likely to be treated like a joke.

The problem is, no other league has these sort of restrictions for their highest division. Sure, you see a points system in lower ETF2L divs to prevent sandbagging, but any rule restricting team composition in TOP level play is generally going to be regarded as suspect, no matter what you do.

Did anybody watch the RGL Grand Finals last season and think "wow froyo is making this super boring/awful/uncompetitive/etc"? I didn't. It was literally the most exciting RGL match I've ever seen. (Great job Cat Noises!)

Also why change to the old ESEA-esque way of doing prizes literally days after ESEA makes changes to the prizepool that the community applauds?
