swipervanillaBut on a serious note, this is all pretty surreal. Kinda crazy (and scary) that there are people running around our major cities blowing up bombs and getting in shootouts in major cities :\
Events like these, while very saddening and unfortunate, get blown out of proportion. You're much more likely to die in a traffic accident than in a shootout or bombing, and while some degree of caution is always good, it doesn't do anyone any good to live in fear of being shot or bombed. Despite what all the media coverage of shootings and stuff may suggest, violent crime has been decreasing for quite some time now. (e.g. "In the last decade (since 2000) the homicide rate declined to levels last seen in the mid-1960s" - http://bjs.gov/index.cfm?ty=pbdetail&iid=2221 )
Sorry if that's insensitive, I just feel like all the media attention on events like this distorts peoples' perspectives on the reality of violent crime and causes unnecessary fear.
Definitely not insensitive, you're 100% correct. The media almost glorifies these kinds of events. While it is a terrible thing, and we should definitely be aware of what happens we shouldnt let it impact our day to day lives, after all that's what these people want, they want you to be scared.
Ive also been having this issue

Shit's crazy, 1 cop has been killed. There's rumours about them being the bombers.
EDIT: one bombing suspect dead, the other in custody, fucking gg
all I see is a black rectangle and no video what gives
ok its "fixed"
Seems really stupid to be that close to the scene of the crime to detonate a bomb and even more stupid to be standing on the roof of a building.
If I'm really feeling anxious/stressed I go to the gym, or for a walk. If I just need to chill out I'll usually just blast some music or hang out with friends.
2cThe world is safer than it's ever been. Insert corny quote about living in fear means the terrorists won but it is kind of true.
A marathon seems like such an odd thing to hit. It was likely a domestic crazy-person.
LionxLightningSpikeI'm only 15 so I still have a long time to go, but a lot of what I've seen on the news is terrible. Maybe I'm just paranoid and nothing will happen to me but none of those people should have been in that. Nobody shouldLionxThe world is a fucking scary place. I'm seriously afraid of everything when I leave my house. It's getting to the point where if not already there, that we have to live in constant fearI mean, I agree with your points, but I have just accepted that I'm going to die some day and I have no real way of knowing when that day will be.
Still doesn't make stomaching stuff like this any easier, I'm just saying I don't see a point in living in fear.
Sure bad stuff happens all the time, but the world is honestly the best it's ever been (for humans anyways). We don't live in a perfect world but if you grew up in a nice enough country you have so much opportunity.
TreshGoat_And people call me racist when I say I hate Asians.kacewho would do this?North Korea.
Edit: Ninja'd so hard.
