cemberFrom my experience this is all you have to do to avoid any g400 cord problems.

I did that by running the cord through a lock. My G400 still started dying a week or two ago. (I also did that with my MX518 which died the same way, though I had that mouse for a good 6ish years)
I just got a Zowie EC1 Evo to replace my dying G400. Could be an option for you if you don't want an ambidextrous mouse. My only complaint so far is that the weird rubbery material can feel kind of weird, and it's hard to pick up (but with the really low LoD and me angling the mouse up instead of fully picking it up, it's not a big deal).

I have no idea why it's blacklisting hats. I made a custom whitelist using whitelist.tf and plugged it into TFTrue, but only disabled items.
If anyone knows why this is blacklisting hats I'll fix it.
