Just a heads up: gonna wipe the server and start from scratch due to a few bugs in the server. Should be back up soon.
#26: Sure.
Edit: Should be good to go again.

ChazzysanI am looking into lightboost the asus 144hz, and I successfully lightboosted it, with this here
http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/
But after I lightboosted, (monitor got relatively darker with the lightboost 120hz vs nonlightboost 144hz) I opened up my tf2 client, and I alt tabbed to it and it took about a 5 second period of blackness and then tf2 opened up, much brighter than before, (the lightboost disabled for some reason while the tf2 application is opened) I tried using windowed no boarder instead of full screen that that did the same thing. Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone have any ideas of a fix? Some help would really be appreciated because I want to compare game play with lightboost 120hz and normal 144hz.
Do you have -refresh 120 in the launch options?
(I'm not sure if that will work, but that's what I have and LightBoost doesn't get disabled when I run TF2)

#14: I remember him saying stuff about making it welcoming to both brand new players and Quake veterans. I don't remember (if he said) specifically how, but it does seem to be something he has considered.

I really hope this gets released and takes off, but skill-based games seem to be more of a niche thing. Although with 2GD's "esports" connections there could be hope.
Mangachuwhy are you alt tabbing in a match slin
stay focused
He's gotta check his UDPM.
I love this man.

MapleI remember a lot of hacking controversies in this community, particularly the wire frame analysis of Powah a while back. And while it seems pretty obvious this guy is not legit, hitting literally all but one shots of the parts I saw, I still struggle identifying certain movement or aim patterns that indicate hacking. So normally I keep my mouth shut because I don't know if what I think is a hacker is just put into my mind from the outside, or because it genuinely looks fishy. Anyone have resources for identifying exactly how hackers' behaviours differ from good players who can land flick shots?
You can generally tell fairly easily when their movement, positioning and decision making are absolute garbage but they never miss.
On a side note he's banned from the new MGE iT.
I'll dl oihguv and check it out.
If there's a plugin to remove doms, I'll happily install it. Google comes up blank though.
If you're ever bored and want to do it again, add me and I'll let you into the "new" MGE iT. :>
I'm planning on keeping it V7, but if most people prefer V8 I can do that instead. Or maybe alternate between the two.
Yarr it's staying Chicago.
I've received news from the overlord of iT that the MGE iT server is going to be shut down at midnight tonight.
Since it's always been one of the go-to MGE servers and has been the favourite of many players (from what I've heard), I figured I would keep it going by myself.
However, the bad news is that I received this news when Ms. Overlord was offline, so I was unable to go about keeping the exact server or the IP. This means you'll have to update the IP of the server, which will be: 192.223.26.183:27015
I'm aiming to have it all set up and ready to be played on before tomorrow. It will pretty much be exactly the same as MGE iT (map, timer, no visible Elo, weapon bans, class bans, and yes, SteamID/IP bans), however the admin list will be considerably thinned. (I will be keeping some of the old admins, so if you had admin on MGE iT and I think you still play MGE occasionally, you'll probably have admin)
If any admin abuse happens, contact me and I'll get it sorted out.
...I think that's it. Soooo tell your friends. MGE iT has a new home.
Edit: Oh if you think anything should be changed, let me know here and I'll consider it. (But I can't guarantee anything)
Edit2: It's up! I think I got everything set up correctly but if not, let me know here.
BEARTATOWhat is wrong with you guys? I havnt been on tftv for a month and I come back and its a giant cesspool of shit.

I've seen this video linked a good amount of times in the SC2 community.
My wrists got pretty bad at one point, with occasional numbness in my pinky and ring fingers, and occasionally I'd wake up and find that bending my wrist any amount would result in excruciating pain.
I "fixed" it by doing a good amount of those types of wrist stretches, and always making sure I try to sleep with my wrists straight.
Also, when you're playing TF2 or whatever, take mini breaks by lifting both hands off the mouse/kb and giving them a quick stretch. (I usually will spread my fingers as far as I can, then ball up into a fist and rotate my wrist back and forth on its natural axis.)
Edit: Also take a break, as others have suggested.
