Remembering them for all the good times you had and the positive influence they've had on you helps a little bit.
..though nothing really ever fixes feeling like you've had something torn out of you.
Edit: There was a quote by Ann Druyan at the end of the book A Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan, saying that she had received a ton of letters after Carl Sagan's death saying how much of an influence he had on everyone, and that let her take comfort in the fact that he basically "lived on" through other people without having to resort to religion or spirituality to find that comfort. Can't seem to find the quote online..
Paid money to get 3 FFWs so far. Cool.
Ammomod.
(Not the bitch MGE version)
I don't remember how I first found out comp TF2 was a thing, but I do remember watching the usual classic frag videos (Reptile/appe/Frozenshift). I saw the top10 plays that VinnyTheBoss did and noticed YouMustRecover in it (dying to Harbleu), who occasionally frequented the pub clan server I always played on. I started watching comp more (<3 Leogeo & Schetter) and really got into it when coL. was dominating the scene.
Then me and some guys from my pub clan decided to run some of our own PUGs. Went fairly well but only happened once. Then one of them knew Tragic and he got us into our first Lobbies. After that we made team for TWL. That was in 2010.
I didn't play in ESEA until S10, partly because of money, partly because of time (spent 8 months at university), and partly because I thought I wasn't good enough. Though eventually DrBadfish offered me a spot on a team he was making for S10 so I decided to go for it.
The end.
Edit: (Oh yeah one time Platinum and Davis were in the aforementioned pub server destroying everyone with the Direct Hit, which also helped motivate me to start)
I'm working tomorrow. :(
..though I figure the servers will probably fuck up again anyways.

That movie is fucking amazing.
Coming from someone who has lost two people very close to me (mother and closest family friend): I think even having only one person you really care about is reason enough to keep on truckin'. You have at least two. I say "at least", because from my experience, people often care more about you than they let on.
I'm gonna be late for work if I type too much more, so maybe I'll edit this later. Regardless, others have made very good points.
..and on a side note (I think I might've told you this in a scrim once): I'll always remember you (and Davis?) doing impromptu shoutcasting in a DM server I was playing in when I was just starting out in comp. I was laughing too hard to play properly.

It seems to me like the average forum user has become more and more retarded as time has gone on, so I don't place too much value in them.
On a side note, how come posts with more than a certain amount of -frags aren't collapsed?
(Like on GotFrag)
I've had short to medium hair in the time I've had my G400 (which I got in 2011 after my MX518 died after like 6 years of constant use), and it's still going strong.
I do run it through a lock to keep the cord down (ghetto mouse bungee), because I hate having it constantly drag against the edge of the desk. Maybe that's why it never broke?
Also I have carpet almost everywhere in the house.
