I feel like "not bad" is an understatement. 2500 dollars sound really good to me.
Also eagle was named after his soccer team, that's pretty cool.

You can play from anywhere but as of right now, you'll be playing on Chicago servers. Not sure if this is a FaceIT limitation right now or because we don't have EU admins.

We have decided to put back the queues as solo/duo only for now due to the activity being low and most players always getting matched against stacks of 6s (which is not so fun and makes them not want to join the queues again).

Oh, that's not what I meant! I wasn't blaming you, it's just that I won't try to play on Chicago servers.

I don't know if this was added in the Open Beta, but you can create 6v6 and 2v2 FACEIT tournaments.

perma offclasses shouldn't be allowed imo
playing with perma heavy/spy/both is not funny.

I don't think you should ban offclasses. What if the game is very stalematey? Then having a player play sniper most of the time isn't that ridiculous. Unless you have an admin review each case separately, I believe it's a bad idea to impose limits on that.
I think a bigger problem is super new players getting into Faceit. I haven't played it much but there are plenty of people who can't even find their way around the map. I just played a game with a heavy who got the same DPM as our medic and it's incredibly frustrating. I'm not sure setting minimum hours played as a requisite in TF2 would solve that, but it'd certainly improve the platform.

You make some good points. IMO, if the player base is large enough, those players would get pushed to the bottom of the ladder and the better players would go to the top and not have to encounter that more than once. I think the problem is that the system is so new that you may run into those types of players more than once since skill levels haven't been determined for everyone.

I understand what you mean, but when is the playerbase going to be big enough? The way I see it, it's the same problem MM has: you try it, the games are awful and you never come back, so it never grows.
One of the devs said on discord that they have a requirement of 50 hours, but that it's not working for old accounts. And even if it worked, 50 hours is nowhere near close to learn how to play the game.

He's the captain of one of the teams, he just joined because he plays CSGO.

sounds like FaceIt is giving 6s the exposure that valve isn't. like all things there will be growing pains, but isn't that the point? if we just push out everyone that's new we're actually literally never grow at all.
if everyone from pugchamp and tf2c went to faceit, there would definitely be enough of a playerbase to make this sustainable. also think of all the people who get shamed or booted out of tf2c for not knowing enough. everyone has to learn somewhere, and if this allows higher skilled players to play amongst each other and lower skilled players (like me) to get some actual practice against people more my speed. that sounds ideal.

Will faceit have any other modes like mge, ultiduo etc?

Yes, we do have some plans for other game modes :)

hi anakk thanks for your dedication to this. Is there plans to compete in daily ladders with captains picking teams from role selection like pug champ?
solo experience:
no logs
play in teams with no medics (and if you do go medic you get people who can't do the rollout)
no comms and people get upset if you ask them once to go discord
clueless players holding down forward all the time
vs
keen nerds stacking together for the premium with full team in discord/mumble comming
this happened 4 out of 4 times
how is this any different from tf2center? :D

the player base is partially made of csgo/dota/anything else who just saw TF2 on the faceit site so you're most likely to meet players with 100 hours and no clue
the difference between faceit and tf2center is that faceit can and will spread the word about comp tf2 which will result in more people playing and that's what we want
