Should I use High or Low sensititvity? Because when I use high sens for solly my shotgun aim will be shit and high sens for rocket jumping is good.
Who uses shotgun anyway these days. Let your scouts do the cleanup.
if you really want to use shotgun and stay consistent with the other aspects of soldier, the only thing you can do is find a "medium" sens
once you find a sens that lets you aim well with shotgun and rockets, but your jumps arent really good, just practise on jump maps until the muscle memory is made with this new sens, after that you'll be good to go

I've never been comfortable with the "medium sens", so I decided to use two different ones for projectile and hitscan classes. Took some time to get used to, but now it feels just right on every class. I even use two for soldier when playing with shotgun. People have been saying "oh this totally fucks up your muscle memory", but I doubt that's the case. Your don't aim the same way with rockets and shotgun.
it doesn't matter what weapon you're using or type of aim you're using. all that matters is that you're comfortable. mike's shotgun had amazing aim and he never used a low sens let alone a medium one. some soldiers are good at jumping with a low sens too. some quake players have insane lg with 2 inch per 360 etc
Getting used to rocket-jumping with a low sens is easier than getting used to aiming with a higher sens imo.
just make sure your aim is snappy with whatever sensitivity you use, i eventually cant aim if my sens is too low
for very consistent hitscan aim, use your arm as a pivot to aim and pretty much keep your wrist still in a kind of tracking style
i feel like ppl forget ergonomics when it comes to gaming
because 16.4" in tf2 feels like a medium sens to me. idk maybe its how I sit or place my wrist/arms
ergo * sens = aim range with your wrist
this is what I do for tf2: https://youtu.be/wqZRpVz-u2Y?t=80

I used 6.8 inches 3 in-game and 800 dpi at ESA Rewind LAN while running shotgun, and I felt very comfortable with that-- unlike my 12 inches at i58 which I definitely felt like I had terrible aim with at least relative to ESA. Preference obviously applies, though I've always personally felt anything higher than 9 inches begins to inhibit my ability to hit high-impact shots and be really mobile at the same time.
As soldier, anything slower than like 10 inches makes things harder than they need to be. There are obviously a few soldiers who are still able to use a slower sens though so it's just preference, but generally, when picking a sens in a game like tf2, I've always felt like going as fast as you possibly can without it hindering your aim is the way to go. You should just be able to handle a faster sens on soldier/demo than scout. If I played soldier I would use 6-7 inches, and my jumps and rockets would be much better.

I think 6-10 inches is the best range for the majority of soldiers. personally i use 10.2 but i switched back and forth between 6.8 and 10.2 for pretty much my entire time playing.
no but whenever i make that point i post this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By6ACGPZ0To actually it wasn't 2 inch it was 5.4 inch but still nice
i don't know if this guy ever made it to 'pro' status, but i think he was able to take on some pros and was a top clan arena player. doesn't really matter though cause his lg was nuts with that high sens. whats even more impressive is that he has 100 ping on these and lg feels disgusting on that

quake players with 2 inches ... most quake pros sit around between 7-11 inches
just because someone can play with those "sensitivities" doesn´t mean they fall on the category of recommended ...
honestly for a class like soldier i´d recommend exactly that something between those 2 sensitivities where you feel the most confortable
anything higher than 11 inch you start having trouble with tracking in a game with the movement of tf2, and the transition of wrist aim to arm becomes kind of awkward
its a class where the mobility and the fast reaction speed its so important, a faster sens will definitely help, and the muscle memory with time will make it easier to aim even with shotgun

I don't know of a single quake player that uses 2in/360. Most quake players use accel though, so it's a bad comparison.
I will say that rapha hits 45+ lg with an 8.2 in and hal9k in cpm used to hit better than that with faster sens's.
as for soldier 6-11 seems to be a good range, there are people on each side of that spectrum that are still really fucking good so it's really down to just whatever you're comfortable with. I would say you should be comfortable moving around because I personally think it's easier to train aim at a faster sens than endurance/speed at a slower sens

Also, if you're tracking your shots you'll presumably play on a lower (high inches p 360) sens than a flick aimer.
Wrist aimers again, will have a higher sens.

2 isn't 5.4 but clockwork shows up in the killfeed at one point during that video lol

Good for 5.4 inches, but people definitely have better lg than that guy, so I still think there's not really a reason to use a fast sens for hitscan/tracking in any other game than tf2 (tf2 is the only game I've ever played where I felt I needed a faster sens than you'd think).
Any time I've ever found somebody's tracking insanely impressive (in quake or ow), I found out their sens was at least 11 inches or slower.
also what botmode and mousiope said.

Lower your sens until your shotgun is comfortable then practice rocket jumping on the new sesnsitivity
6-10 inches is the sweet spot for most soldiers, although for the last 3 months I've used 11 inches because I like to take my time with shots and guarantee the hit, so using lower sens is easier with that.

oh yeah i agree. he uses about 10. but yeah, i suppose around 10 inches or slower then.

There's a lot of suggestions in this thread, but I kinda wanna extend on botmode's point of using mouse accel.
Many Quake players love using accel since it allows, essentially, two sensitivities. For a soldier, the higher one would be for rocket jumping (aiming with fast flicks) and the more accurate shotgun low sens would be for aiming (slightly slower mouse movement). You should try out this driver here: http://www.teamfortress.tv/5067/?page=1
Also, a video demonstrating how it (in a exaggerating way) was meant to be used.

I used to play at 24 inches per 360 when I played sniper and still somehow played solider, I now play with 12 inches and main solider. So ye
but I heard that if u make your sensitivity the same size of your penis youll play better, makes your solider more synchronised with your body
