Degreaser is definitely good. Not a fan of flares or the axe, but they really won't change much in the grand scheme of things.

TwinqeI don't know if this is a stupid idea, but I think it'd be really cool if the church bell on mid could move and ring if you hit it with explosive damage.

isn't there a cs map where there's a bell that does this and it's annoying as hell?

#37 DDoS for TF2: How should we handle it? in TF2 General Discussion

Well, unless ESEA can offer effective DDoS protection on their servers, they should allow matches being DDoS'ed to be played off-client like lazypanda suggested. Sure, it's not very professional, but it's even less professional to have finals ruined by idiots.

As for players getting DDoS'ed, well, best they can do is try to hide their IP. Maybe connect to irc only through a VPN, or, better, get a dynamic IP that they can change right before a match.

#28 Help people block ad by making ads in Off Topic
deadmau5Tang_UnbrownymasterI dislike it. If it's used enough online advertising becomes profitless, which is already a huge deal for places like twitch. Most people who use adblocker will never disable it for specific sites (you can check the people who whined there was a bar where ads should be on this site).
On the flipside, more people using adblockers means fewer incompetent users getting viruses, which equals smaller botnets and such. If in the future adblock implements a "allow non-obtrusive ads" setting (without taking bribes like adblock plus does) and it's already used by a majority of the population it would provide a very strong incentive for advertisers to improve the quality of their ads.
there's an option for that already

I believe that's adblock plus, not adblock, and they are different organizations.

#11 rulesets in TF2 General Discussion

lighten up with the -frags people. even if you don't like OP's style and conclusions this has the potential to be an interesting discussion.

#21 Why are posts being deleted? in TF2 General Discussion

only tangentially related, but what do people think of disabling +/- frags on specific threads, done either by the OP or mods ? it might be good in discussions like the quickfix threads to reduce bandwagon behavior.

Get multiplay to hire someone with actual taste to handle the main stage. And someone with actual wit to be the announcer. The cameraman waving rubber ducks at people was a huge improvement over multiplay's announcers.
