You can get a pretty solid color grade with Vegas' color curves. MBL is kinda optional

This. Color curves and saturation/contrast are all you really need for color, it's basically all I ever use save a little exposure or blur

Definitely the easiest method for getting good color is just drag the middle of each of the curves for each clip until you like where they are

True, it is however your own preference. I have had a lot of request for the colour correction on most of my videos, so I just shared the method I use. I also did mention in the video that you can easily use the default plugins in Sony Vegas for colour correction which works great too.
