There are a lot of stats available to make this decision.

Oh, I assumed the OP was talking about the highest/lowest percentage of teams successfully pushing/defending points (pushes). I suppose that would be an easier alternative though.

Maybe some of these wont work unless someone comes up with a good way to determine the winner
And with best offclasser i had someone who stood out that offclassed ofted and made good plays(could be very subjective)

There's not much of a point to these awards if all of them were determined by raw statistics; if that were the case, people could just look them up. (And things like "best (class)" would just go to the winning team in most cases).
These have to have some sort of subjective component to them or there's not much fun in my opinion. That being said, all you really need are a couple of people who actually followed the season/matches and knew the players well enough to at least discuss them and come to a conclusion.

Wasn't there a guy that did ESEA articles with these? He compared stats and all, would love to see B4nny's DPM on scout this season.
Edit: Found it: http://news.esea.net/tf2/index.php?s=news&d=comments&id=12209

Why not? Would be awesome, you could award titles next to players names here on the forums. I've seen it done before on other forums for skating and BMX, plus it would incourage the community to vote. An article summarizing everything would be cool to have as well.

ETF2L and UGC select their best of the year in similar ways, in that they're either nominated and/or voted by players and members of that same division. Maybe by limiting this to ESEA members, it could be a little less of a popularity contest than if it was just open to public. Idea being that if you played in and followed ESEA all season, you'd have better knowledge of the teams and players than some (but obviously not all! I know there are plenty of people on the forums here who know a ton about this past season) of the non-playing public. You'd be trying to avoid people writing in stabby for every position or shit like that.
At least in theory, you could get better results this way. Although no system is perfect.

I always found the "awards" to be superficial, particularly for a game like TF2. Maybe you can really justify two or three of them, but the rest end up being reaches where you try to fit the category to the player and not the other way around.

awards = ego stroking contest with biased opinions playing off of stats and placement of team at end of season = everything rk ever wrote
