Hello everyone!
(tl;dr: We're bunch of TF fans doing academic research on free-to-play and would like to hear your opinion through our survey. We work as games researchers in a Finnish university)
We at the Game Research Lab (University of Tampere, Finland) are conducting research on free-to-play games. As a part of our research, we are looking respondents for our free-to-play survey. We are especially looking for people, who play Team Fortress 2 or Facebook games, but any free-to-play gamer is welcome to answer as well.
By filling up the survey, you will contribute to the research as well as help the games community to produce better free-to-play game experiences. The results of the survey will be published in the academic field of games studies.
Answering to the survey takes about 15 minutes and you have a chance to win a 50 euro prize of your choice from Amazon.
You can find the survey here https://elomake3.uta.fi/lomakkeet/5977/lomake.html
Feel free to share the link with your friends!
Thank you for your time!

To mods: Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules here.
To respondents: Yes, there are questions that seem quite similar to each other, but that is just how the science rolls on this one. The necessary evil, if you will.

The data is probably going to be skewed for this forum/game because most people bought the game before it was F2P. I actually forget that it's a free game most of the time because I don't pub much.

using purchased items feel good?
using purchased items feel pleasent?
using purchased items feel positive?
your willingness to buy an item in this game in the near future is high
The likelihood of you purchasing an item in this game in the short term is high?
The probability that you would consider buying items in this game within the next 3 months is high?
very odd, very odd indeed but hey it's for science!!

DunderBrousing purchased items feel good?

using purchased items feel positive?
Good - does it make you happy
pleasant - are they easy/fun to use
positive - do you feel guilty about using them
They're all different aspects of how purchased items make you feel.

Still ambiguous because it's all open to how one perceives the question and specific word not even counting the multiple uses of those words.

I agree. Also, with the misspelling of some works and the ambiguity, I think the survey was originally written in another language and a direct translation doesn't do the original language justice.

A lot of questions were asking two things at once, so I don't know how you're supposed to learn anything from them, but I went ahead and answered anyway.
"Are attractive because the are rare"
Well, TF2 items are not rare, so they can't be attractive because of rarity.
But how is that distinguished from someone saying:
No, they aren't attractive because only idiots buy rare items from the store.

Hi all, thanks for the replies and for the interesting discussion.
Unfortunately I cannot go into too much details on the survey instrument at this time.
Asking the same kind of questions is due the validity of the data. The questions themselves are based on earlier research on virtual goods.
