muma handled this situation in a really mature way, and that other guy seems like a tool. glad blizzard/ dallas fuel aren't tolerating casual homophobia from their players.

it's his job. None of that "haha it's just a game dude relax haha" shit. That stops applying once some company pays a couple of millions so he can play videogames for a living.
If a football player would say something like that in public they'd face a suspension and the club would be fined. At least that's how things are handled where I live and that's exactly how OWL handled it as well.

Someone else already explained it, but esports isn't really a "joke" anymore when companies are paying a lot of money to keep these people on their roster/bench whatever. It becomes a PR thing and an issue of whether or not a company wants to be associated with being okay with those kinds of remarks. So yeah, call it silly or whatever you want, but in the real world, as someone else said, jobs usually have ethics clauses in their contracts regarding behavior. If the behavior doesn't align with company values, then there is usually some form of punishment. The big bosses may or may not actually care about the infraction personally, but as a company they've gotta make themselves look good ya feel

You're beyond stupid. Words can't describe. When you get a job you can't just say whatever you want. Doesn't matter if its E-Sports, part time job at McDonalds, working in an office, athletics, your freedom of speech is limited.

When xQc streams he is in his little bubble where he tends to lose self-control and say things without a filter. In the clip where xQc insults Muma, xQc literally catches himself the second after he insults Muma and realizes what he said was wrong. While it is clear that xQc potentially needs some mental help, I think the root of the problems all stem from his streaming personality. Dallas Fuel have even encouraged him to stream less.

Permzillathe BBC article on it http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-42775361
Although it wasn't related to gaming, the incident of YouTube star Logan Paul posting a video showing the body of an apparent suicide victim is likely to be in the minds of operators of online content streaming services, and making Blizzard and Dallas Fuel wary, he added.
BBC really stretching to find a link there

sageausman i check overwatch news 3 times a year and it seems everytime i do this xqc guy has done/said something stupid.
If you're one of the few lucky people able to make a salary through e-sports you've got to be borderline brain dead to be unable to hold your tongue before saying something that could easily end your career, especially when a PG company like Blizzard are at the helm.
It must be weird for players and casters to be on such a short leash though, I'm not quite sure how it is in Dota & League but in CS there's a decent amount of player/team rivalries as well as a fair amount of twitter drama that always makes for good entertainment. Feel like that element is probably going to be lost in overwatch if everybody is too scared to say anything under Blizzard's eye.

I have no idea if you are trolling or serious.
Have you ever had an actual job? Like in the real world? You 100% cannot say whatever you want, you will get your ass fired if you do.

Except E-sports can be a, wait for it, real job now. That should be transparent to everyone now.

People expecting esports to be like a facebook meme page didn't really understand how esports work. Seriously, what do you expect, an actual company sponsoring gamers for beeing toxic and insulting people? This is an actual business, not some random anons having 'fun' on the internet
