Crashing Problem

Hi friends, so recently (last three days or so) I've been having a crashing issue where as soon as I join a server and pick a team (spectate, even) I crash instantly. No warning sign, nothing, just crash. I know this is a recurring problem on a pugna server and can be remedied by joining a pub server first. I had this issue on my own team's server for the first time and connecting to pubs beforehand did not fix the problem. If anyone else has had this problem and can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Restart Steam and validate your cache files.

I've had this problem on specific servers running the UGC configs. Indeed restarting Steam and validating fixed it for me.

I thought updating my HUD and validating / restarting fixed the problem but it was only temporary. Yesterday and today now I've crashed in the middle (rather than the start). I've kept revalidating but I thought Steampipe was supposed to fix this whole validating business.
