As for Soldier vs Scout, it really doesn't matter. If the Scout is always approaching you from mid-range its a winning matchup for the soldier regardless of the map or loadout. If you're playing soldier and are shotgun switching however, you can only lose if you're whiffing like crazy or if the scout decides to play super defensive and is able to outplay you by hiding around corners/chipping at you from a distance, which is not possible on the smaller maps. Shotgun switching in my opinion is super counter-productive for both players, anything else is acceptable and effective practice in my opinion.

honestly wish we could make it so you can have those equipped and play, but they dont heal you. maybe still allow banner uses, but yea. edit: I'm seeing if we can set that up on gflclan, I'm not 100 percent sure how you could make it that way though.

If your a scout main looking to practice movement/surfing shotgun soldier is one alternative. Though as everyone else has said, gunboats is just better practice.

Just because they were incredibly good doesn't mean people today are worse. I'm confident we have players who are on their level today, if not higher than their prime was.

it’s crazy to me that shotgun being universal default in mge and gunboats being generally bm is a boomer take now

In my personal experience, I find that if I want to improve my mechanics, I run gunboats.

When I run the shotty, I find that I have a habit of 'wasting' my rockets (going for stupid shots that I shouldn't be going for in actual games), but when I'm running gunboats I tend to think more carefully about ammo management. This is probably not be the same for everyone, but it happens to me a lot.

Also, I rarely run shotty in actual 6s scrims/pugs/matches, so there's that too.

shotgun if you play like a freak gunboats if youre a human, i dont see the point in using shotgun in mge youre just bound to play gay and if you want to improve your hitscan aim dont play soldier mge play scout in dm
