So for one month now i've been having absolute shit ping (5 ping any french server to 180ping german server for example) to almost every server out of france (5 ping any french server to 180ping german server for example).
My internet was very pog before that : fiber with 800down/400up, like almost anywhere in europe i would have 30ping max.
Nothing changed on my end so i investigated the issue with pingplotter and geolocated the ips bewteen which the problem seemed to lie.

I am already aware that loss % in these cases doesn't mean shit since it doesn't carry through multiple hops.
The crazy difference in ping between 2 hops should mean something tho (in this case from ballerup to frankfurt to nuremberg)
Few things to note :
- Screenshots are from this evening roughly at the same time)
- I have done this before and i get the same issue to nehterlands/german/swedish/english(i tested some cs servers too)
-Sometimes when i do these tests pingplotter will show everything looking normal (20 to 40ping everywhere) while i lag in the same way ingame (testing same servers that i play on) : i'm not sure why that is.
So basically i'm trying to make a nice folder of screenshots etc to send my isp so they can hopefully fix the issue.
--> Few questions tho :
- are there better tools than pingplotter to test this issue (since as stated above sometimes pingplotter shows everything as normal while i lag hardcore ingame)
- i assume these ping problems are due to too low bandwidth between 2 servers on the path i'm using ? And since the ones in questions are out of France and owned/managed by different isps than my own (french one), is there even any point in contacting my isp about it ?
For anyone that actually read through all that and tried to figure it out tyvm aha ; it's been very shit beeing limited to play only on french servers, really limits what i can play D:

same server, right now :

iirc the bad ping starts around 20 and ends around midnight CET, so it should be too low bandwidth somewhere on the route

For starters what is your environment (settings, mods (including config), OS, and hardware) when you had this issue? What server were you on when this issue happened (give the IP so I can check the server myself)? Can you put your screenshots in a download link?

I've had this exact same issue before. Call your isp, yell at them and it should be fixed within a week or two. This issue isn't too uncommon from what I read.

Yeah just to follow up, call your ISP and have details at the ready. If it's a tech issue, they will fix it quickly.
If it's a "we are greedy and saving a buck on routing", then you complaining will push the issue just a bit (and the only thing stopping them from doing it is a bunch of people complaining, so do your part!)
