Making this thread to see how many people here are colorblind and what kind of tactics they use to play to their fullest in spite of their disability.
I personally suffer from Deuteranomaly and I used to use filters to help me distinguish red players on green backgrounds (stuff like product for example) but recently stopped using them because i felt i never could achieve a good enough balance.
So i wonder what some of you guys may use and if we might be able to help eachothers :D

mat_color_projection
is your best friend (fellow deuteranomaly gang)
If you can afford Enchroma glasses they work wonders (at least for this specific colorblindness) they just have a very high price barrier

I thought mat_color_projection only gave an effect simulating certain colourblindness and so wasn't super useful

It's original intention was to simulate colorblindness to help better design the game, however like this reddit user I too notice a significant increase in ability to discern reds from greens using this command (specifically mat_color_projection 5).

yeah I feel u mate. For me the blu scouts are so fucking hard to distinguish. Playing with high brightness helps a bunch tho.
I'm not exactly colorblind but I can't see blue and red stickies on pretty much every non-white/light grey surface so I have to just hold W at demomen
mat_color_projection 7 helps me out a great deal

Ok I tried out mat_color_projection 3, while skeptical at first, I actually find target recognition way easier on map such as product, red players finally pop out from the background as they should, thanks
