Leafs making me eat my words. This comeback win was probably the best game so far in this post season.
No Excuse for losing a game when up 4-1 at the end of the 2nd period. Almost no chance for a team like TB to turn a devastating loss like this around and win 3 straight games.

we were up 3-1 against montreal a few years ago and lost that series as well
this leafs team is better compared to the one a few years ago, with more depth throughout the line up in comparison. playoff type d-men with big additions throughout the bottom six. Running Matthews, Tavares and O'Reilly down the middle is awesome.
One of the big things about Tampa is that other than playing like 100 playoff games over the past 3 years is that they're missing a lot of their d-men this year. Hedman, Cernak injured, and they lost McDonagh who did the heavy lifting defensively for most of their cup runs.

Ever since the infamous Bruins series I've been too scared to celebrate a series lead until I hear the final buzzer go off.. Leafs PTSD has me fucked

Yeah gotta take a chance at being wrong, thats how it works.
Can't take much away from Toronto, when you win 3 OT games in 1 series plus a 3goal comeback in game 4 you deserve the series. I watched 5 of these 6 games and didn't think Toronto played particularly well to be honest but neither did Tampa Bay. Either way they advanced, and everything starts fresh in the 2nd round.
I am really excited about all these game 7's coming up. Now that NYR won, hopefully LA can win tonight as well and force another one.
Hoping for a great game tomorrow with Florida/Boston.

I'd imagine there are a lot of nervous people in Boston right about now
Florida is playing really good defensively and 5on5 chances for Boston are mostly 1 shot and done. If Florida can just keep out of the penalty box they can maybe pull this off.
So far a great game 7
edit --- How quickly things change, rofl

holy shit what a game 7! that goal to tie it at 3, wow
Nobody would want to play Florida right now. They finished the season 7/0/1 and even with that finish they only got the wild card spot by 1 point.
They come in hot and take down the Bruins in 7. Toronto is going to have their fucking hands full.

Moral of the story? If you're setting records in the regular season, you really do not want to play Bobrovsky in round 1. First Tampa, now Boston.
everyone conveniently ignored how the defending cup champion just got bounced by a baby team
if this seasons finals ends up being kraken v. panthers i will shit

I don't think anyone is ignoring it. Seattle had a great win and its a good accomplishment but Florida beating the Bruins is simply a much bigger upset win.
A few off the top of my head are that since this Bruins team set so many regular season records, they were being considered among the best teams of all time. There was a 40 something point different between Boston and Florida which is, I believe, another record for a playoff upset.

I also think people underestimate Seattle. They had a pretty good season, and have pretty strong depth. They don’t really have any superstars, but you don’t need them when you have all lines producing (kinda like the opposite of the rangers).
Speaking of the rangers, the devils were able to absolutely shut down everything they tried to do. It was nasty. If the devils can keep up this defense, then they could make it pretty far

Damn I was gonna make this exact post
from games against Seattle this year you can tell they were a solid team, they were able to run 3 scoring lines and were gifted some talent. Basically no bad players
Avs just weren't the same team as last year where everyone knew they were stacked and no one wanted to play them
Landeskog injured, lost Burakovsky and Kadri + Nischuskin disappeared for whatever reason
The Devils were insanely better and the team played way more confident in front of Akira Schmid. They have all the speed and skill in the world, hound the puck and the Rangers looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there.
I remember saying that I wasn't convinced that Tarasenko/Kane didn't feel like the right moves at the deadline, not that either were bad, they were both rentals and the main guys on the team (Fox, Panarin, Mika and Kreider) should have been doing the heavy lifting anyway. I don't think offense was the issue they needed to address and blocking your younger guys from progressing with even more vets in the way just seemed strange. Just the wrong targets

Toronto in serious trouble dropping 2 at home like this especially after such a strong game in general. Not much you can do when a goalie plays like that and also gets all the bounces or this series is tied at 1-1. Bob was fantastic.
Florida is on a roll and I have seen teams ride this wave all the way to the cup. Add on a hot goaltender and like I already said, nobody wants to play Florida right now.
Predicting SEA/DAL to go 7 games. Those teams seem so evenly matched and both games so far have been so fun to watch.
Looking forward to tonight, lets go Carolina!

GritomaWhat Did They Mean By This ?
I don't think anyone has any idea. Selling the team to an owner who really cares like Ed Snider used to? (That would be awesome) Some think the color of the logo is going to be a new shade of orange? I have no clue.
I am way more excited about Briere being our new GM and Keith Jones being the new Pres of Hockey Operations.

So glad to see the Devils get knocked out. Always warms my heart when Flyers rivals do not advance. Since there are none left, I can watch with total joy.
I would love to see Florida vs Carolina in the ECF. Hopefully they can knock off Toronto tonight and make it happen.
Out west, I can really see both series going 7 games. Enjoying the late night hockey!
