Invite team black swan returns for RGL Season 16. The team was last seen during the ESEA era in Seasons 26-28 where they used the power of anime to earn placements in the 7-8th range. Continue reading to meet the modern resurgence of the squad and some of their new faces.

black swan is made up of a large chunk of Season 15 Advanced champions burger cat. Carrying over from the previous season is ether who moves from Pocket Soldier to Demoman, darty who moves from Roamer to Flank Scout, and foxxy on Medic. ether should be familiar to many fans. Known for both Soldier and Demoman gameplay, he has multiple playoff appearances in recent seasons, including back-to-back showings with The ANGY! Brothers in Season 9 and froyotech in Season 10. darty is an up-and-coming Scout in Invite, being relatively new to the division. During Seasons 13 and 14, he debuted with ROME earning 7th and 6th place finishes respectively. Likewise, foxxy is also a new face to Invite, with this season being her debut. foxxy has historically been more involved in the Highlander scene, earning a 2nd place finish in Season 17. More recently she has experienced plentiful success in Sixes, winning Main in Season 14 and going on to win Advanced last season with the aforementioned burger cat.

Moving on to the new pick ups, tripbwai joins the team on Roamer. Known across Invite as the #1 roamer in the game, she brings the most experience by far to the team with countless seasons and playoff finishes throughout the ESEA and RGL eras. Most recently she took silver in Season 14 and the RGB 7 LAN event. Joining tripbwai on soldier is Pocket quacks, another talented player of the RGL era. Last season quacks earned 5th place with GlobalClan Ice. He’s no stranger to the playoffs though, with a 3rd place finish in Season 14 with GlobalClan and a 2nd place finish in Season 13 with Witness Gaming.

Team leader exile rounds out the squad on Pocket Scout. exile, not to be confused with a certain rocket jumper, is known for his Scout and Demoman gameplay and has formed a duo with ether with the two playing together for many seasons. He’s mainly been a substitute player for the last few seasons of Sixes, focusing mainly on Highlander, but he’s returned for this season to revive the black swan name.

Ether and I decided that it was a good time for us to bring back the old black swan name to compete in Invite together again with some of our returning players and new additions. This preseason we had returning players of black swan join the roster, like jayhyunpae, who competed with us during the ESEA S27-I regular season, and tripbwai, who played with the team at Rewind II.
