PC Build

I'm looking to build a PC pretty much just for gaming (especially TF2). I really don't know what I'm doing, other than that I want the Asus VG248QE 120hz, and I want to be able to use lightboost (so I will need an Nvidia GPU, I think). If possible, I'd like some thing that's relatively cheap ~$600 or $700 (or less!) but can still get 200+ fps in TF2 with maxframes. I live near a Microcenter/Fry's/Best Buy/whatever if that matters. Thanks!

I've noticed a lot of builds on the forum that are 600-700 based from just glancing at what others post. You should check them out

" I really don't know what I'm doing"
look you made it to teamfortress.tv you can make it google too! you want to be getting parts. and you want to build it yourself. just do your research and KNOW what you are doing.
My favourite pc buying guide: http://www.techspot.com/guides/buying/page3.html
edit : if you want nvidia just find a store/website you like. something like newegg and find whats in price range for nvidia. use techspot for benchmarks maybe

Also try tomshardware.com They have a specific section just for newbie builders :D Just tell them you need a good cpu and a gpu that can support 1080p and 120hz monitors. I don't want to just push you aside so i'll help you with the build. I'd rather talk on steam so could you add me on steam ?

If you need HDD, optical drive, or windows you'll be over, but most people have those lying around.

Go to Microcenter and get an i5 3570k and motherboard combo. Should be about the same price as the CPU/Mobo listed above.

Excluding Windows from the budget will allow you to also bump the video card up to a GTX 660 and get a better case.
