Could you mention somewhere that you didn't make it? The way you post updates and stuff probably gives off the impression that you're the developer

When I'm using the recording tool, while recording, my viewmodels are turned off, is there a way to turn it on? I have a toggle for viewmodels but it won't work. I'm watching a POV demo too.

You probably have Disable Viewmodels ticked in Demo Buddy. It should be in the Recording Tools tab.

my tick bind isn't working. It doesn't show up in the demobuddy.cfg
also, can you change where the recording tgas are saved? or automatically move the files after recording is done to somewhere else? tf2 is on my SSD and I don't want loads of gigabytes taking up precious space
make it force viewmodels on if possible, my config changes which weapons have viewmodels. but when I record I want all viewmodels on

This might just be a problem I'm having, but when I click: Play Demo, it starts up and nothing happens in game.

After I used Virtual Dub and imported it onto Sony Vegas, the .avi stutters a lot, it even stuttered while using the recording tool in Demo Buddy, could it be my computer? I capped the fps at 60 and I set the resolution to 1280x720.

its normal for vegas to be shit, try changing the preview quality above the preview window (draft quarter will be the most smooth but look the worst)

I tried using draft quarter, and it was still stuttery. When I'm trying to record the .tga files through "startmovie" sometimes, the demo itself will stutter, and it only happens while recording.

Any way to choose a different directory for recorded tgas etc?
I keep TF2 on my ssd so its not optimal having them there due to space constraints (even if it is ridiculously quick)

Recording hasn't worked for me, my whole keyboard is bound to something though.
Recording hasn't worked for me, my whole keyboard is bound to something though.
At the moment some of the features don't work. The ones that I noticed didn't do anything were:
- Skip to tick and then start record function.
- Disable HUD completely function.
- Set mat_queue_mode 0 function.
Also +1 on the being able to set a separate directory to /tf/ for where the recordings go to - that would be super useful.

Skip to tick didn't do anything for me either, and it'd be lovely to have a startmovie h264 option as well for some very quick records. Ain't nobody got time for TGAs.

That's something that TF2 would handle, but I'll look into how to do it (if possible)

Like whatever you have bound to record won't start recording when you press it?

Did the recording start, it just didn't skip to a tick?
And I have no clue why those last 2 won't work, the commands appear in the CFG. Hmmm...

Can you add an option to launch TF2 without starting a demo, or perhaps to start a listen server on the map of your choice? As both a comp player and a mapper I'm finding it difficult to switch between graphics settings when I want to take screenshots of my work, and Lawena isn't cutting it for me.

Wouldn't be too tough to implement. I very well may include features to support that in the future, but it won't be in tonight's update.

Have you tried recording from multiple demos? I had this same problem problem when I was recording a POV from an esea match, but when I recorded from the STV everything was fine. Which is weird considering what I hear from a majority of movie maker's is that they prefer POVs. Then again, it could have been a flaw by me in settings all along that I finally corrected unknowingly.

Idk if it has been mentioned but when i'm done recording it still plays the demo really slowly. idk if that is just me but it gets pretty annoying.

Sooooo, now that lawena is broken and the guy isn't really active, is this gonna be updated to work with steampipe? That would be really cool if it could be.

I'll give it a shot, but I can't make any promises. I haven't tested it after the steampipe update.

You can fix Lawena Recording Tool yourself. Locate your Lawena Folder and open up tfdir.lwf with Notepad (or similiar tools - I recommend Notepad++). Edit the first line to match the new TF2 directory.

As far as I can tell that doesn't fix it. All that does is tell lawena where the tf folder is, but that's not what needs changing. It's that the huds and cfgs go in different places. That doesn't fix it.

After months of halted development, I kicked myself in the ass and made an update. Sorry for the wait, but there's some good stuff in this update!
Updated to 1.4
Added Favorites feature.
Added ability to launch at a different resolution.
Added 960 to built in FPS list.
Added ability to update CFG without launching/relaunching TF2.
Added ability to subtract from a tick (rewind) for recording purposes.
Began work on making P-Rec bookmarks compatible with the favorites feature.
