Its a popularity poll, assuming that one team is better than another is nothing but AN ASSUMPTION. Ask the players on the teams who play BOTH of these teams, those are the opinions that I would listen to. Poll is stupid. It causes unnecessary drama. It is what it is. Don't make ill informed assumptions. Don't take out your frustration on individuals that are on these teams. Be angry with the situation and the poll itself.

ESEA polls in general seem to be dumb. The community makes uninformed decisions based on other players (anyone remember cp_ashville?) and then the next season everyone complains about what we collectively voted on. If chill to good are the ones voted in and they end up going 2-14 I'm going to be upset.

Wouldn't they be happy with 2-14?

i really like the idea of a cut-throat invite make or break between the top 2, i mean its a cool idea on paper that you have a popularity contest for invite but that could have some pretty long (8-week) repercussions.

am I the only one who thinks every poll is completely rushed?

like for map polls, rather than killing or kalkin or w/e announcing the new choices on tf.tv (or even before we vote out a map lol), and letting a discussion/playtest happen, as soon as a map is voted out a poll with the new maps is put up, and voting immediately begins, meaning that the people who are already informed about the maps are usually in the minority

it's the same thing here, these polls were posted probably 15 minutes after the last one of these teams solidified its roster

yeah a single elim tourney or at least a match between the clear top 2 in votes (chill to good and ricks team) is possible, but how many votes are left to squeeze out of people? considering that the people who literally bought premium just to vote already have, how many people will really be influenced to vote for the winning team who haven't voted already?

Nah i meant that killing/kalkin can basically put whoever they want into invite. Why not hold an unofficial match/tournament and the winner gets put in and we forget the poll. Yeah it kind of sucks for people who paid to vote but i'd rather have the team that deserves to be in invite get in.

Hey so i could be wrong but it seems like the poll is (and has been) a money making device more than it is an actual tool to get the right team into invite. If the right team gets in, its more a side affect than anything. ESEA is a buisness. I dunno maybe I'm just cynical.
